So I just rewatched Nemesis and it's just as disappointing now as it was when it came out- especially the ending.
Picard freezes up when Shinzon gets piked - seconds away from the Enterprise being destroyed and he just fucking stands there. WTF?
And the bit where Diana runs into Riker's arms in tears over Data's death. The rest suddenly fall silent and are stunned. Screw all those other Enterprise crew members, even those that died on the bridge.
I'm glad this movie killed the STNG movie franchise.

I just finished watching it on the BBC and still enjoy that film.

I've faced certain death on numerous occasions. Oh no a snot nosed clone of me just died. I'm going to wallow in morass when I could be saving 1000 crew members who have always been dedicated to me." IMO - it was about as unPicard as it could get.

Amoebas and I don't agree on much, but I agree that this film killed the TNG franchise. Generations was ok, and I liked First Contact, but Insurrection and Nemesis were bad. The line must be drawn here, no further.
That stupid unbeatable ship just pissed me off.

I think there was just an over-saturation of Trek material at that point. I do always wonder why in the world they did not ever make a NextGen movie with Q. Seemed a natural.

Hmm… I'm not sure I am all in for the Picard series. Well, maybe might be good, but I am given pause…
