Do you guys down there in the States get Good Friday off as a holiday too? It's a holiday here, but I think most retail is open. It's a state (not federal as far as I know) holiday here, so I get the day off (though I go in to work anyway). It's weird cause that whole church and state separation thing…

No such luck over here in Massachusetts. True story on a related theme... My last name is Steinhelper, and years ago the big boss came around late one Thursday afternoon saying good night to a few of us. He stopped at my desk and said "So, I guess I'll see you on Monday." I gave him a puzzled face as I had no intentions of not coming in on Friday. Seeing my dismay, he said that he gives all of his Jewish employees the Jewish holidays (that Friday being Rosh Hashanah). All I could think of saying was "Shalom!". And for the next few years until I left that job, I shamelessly got all the Christian and Jewish holidays off paid. I even researched for some obscure ones when they happened on a Fri or Mon. Let this be a lesson - Stein at the end of a name = Jewish. At the beginning = German.

Speaking of Kill Bill, Kazuo Koike died Wednesday.
He wrote Lady Snowbird, the movie Tarantino was inspired by to his film.
