And the exodus continues, this time from Legends of Tomorrow, with Brandon Routh, (the Atom, Superman), leaving along with his real life wife Courtney Ford, (Nora Darkh), also leaving at the same time. Their last episode films in October. A change in the creative direction was cited, but it's probably declining ratings and a desire to cut costs IMO. The door's apparently open for them to return in the future. It's also possible that simply putting out there again as a Superman might have reminded WB execs that the dismal Henry Cavill isn't the only living ex-Superman, and they might have something else for him in the future, Superman related or not.
Boooooooo. This news sucks.

Also seems very out of the blue. Don't know why they pulled the trigger on this one.

Don't be upset. Brandon Routh can focus on making movies.

Mrs. Chap will be thrilled to know there will soon be new content on the Hallmark Channel.

Another day, another new(ish) CW superhero show, this one starring Arrow's Black Canaries plus Mia Smoak. Katie Cassidy, Katherine McNamara, and Juliana Harkavy reprise their roles from Arrow in this spin-off. Basically, if you liked Arrow, but wanted less Amell and bad fight scenes. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/cw-sets-arrow-spin-off-170029734.html

COIE keeps growing. We already have...Burt Ward playing...who knows, Kevin Conroy playing...yes...Bruce Wayne!, Tom Welling and Erica Durance from Smallville, (sadly, no Chloe, she reportedly has...other commitments, and now the latest, Ashley Scott reprising her role as The Huntress from the early 2000s show Birds of Prey. Rachel Skarsten (?) already is part of the Batwoman cast, but no word on if she'll share a scene with her BOP cast mate or even appear in the crossover. Sadly, no similar announcement for Dina Meyer, who actually would have fit well into this as Oracle. Which would have made Catscratch very happy...he's a big Dina Meyer fan, (as am I). Also, a Supernatural alumni was tapped to play Ryan Choi/The Atom for this.

Okay, I feel for Ruby Rose, but at some point, you have to ask why the hell she was cast as Batwoman. She's pretty, sure, but throw a stone in Hollywood and you'll hit ten at least as pretty and twenty more even prettier. She's...not a good actress. And...she's a waif like model who can't believably pretend to be beating up bunches of men. But...and here's what the deal killer would be for me...she's evidently very fragile, not a good trait for an action series lead. www.foxnews.com/entertainment/ruby-rose-surgery-stunt-injuryShe evidently had to have emergency surgery on her spine, not something you want to mess with, after a stunt accident. And has had spinal problems for years. I don't know, but if I was the showrunner, I wouldn't want to risk her life or mobility for a dumb TV show. Yes, she's tiny and not a great actress and seems rather sullen and unlikable the times I've seen her act, but the injury problem alone given what they'll ask her to do seems to me enough to have wanted to pass on her for a more robust actress. Sadly, some people are just breakable. You see it with football and baseball players all the time, often leading to bad injuries or early retirement, (like Luck for example).

They'll have to do something crazy, like make Iris the new Reverse Flash or something.

Is DC Universe covered in this thread?
Damnit, should have been characters not character.

Sure is! All things DC and TV, no matter the channel, streaming, whatever.

Also, may I observe an unavoidable truth: "Die Harley Quinn, die, die, die!"
I would LOVE to write a Harley Quinn title; it would be short, one panel, consisting of Godzilla stomping on Harley...and Cyborg. And now Barry Allen; never thought they get me to hate a character I was sort of "meh" about, but they did. It isn't that I don't like Harley or Cy, more that I absolutely LOATHE them both...
