Heh, it seems either no one is watching the CW DC stuff, or even Riverdale, or no one cares...
Oh well, Flash and Arrow continue since the break to be fairly good, but Jesse L Martin just continued to prove that when they allow him to do anything, he's the best actor on the CW shows, and Tom Cavanaugh continues to prove he's the next best, the one to have a good scene with Martin. And Amell with Gustin are probably the best of the series leads. Hell, Flash has even toned down Iris a bit, making not quite as horrible as usual. Meanwhile, on Flash, my fav apart from Gustin, Martin, and Cavanaugh continues to be...however you spell the Killer Frost actresses' name. I also like Diggle and most of the rest on Arrow. SG alone gets my full cast hate. More because they have, most of them anyway, shown at times they can do better. Black Lightning? Don't watch, gave it about ten episodes before deciding it was just boring...to me anyway. Batwoman? CW wants me to see it, judging from all those commercials they run for it. Unfortunately, the one they run has RR doing the voiceover. Damn, it is one of the worst readings I've ever heard! It's not even the way most people would give it a first read, just to know what the lines are. It was like she was reading an ingredient's list, rather than lines. Flat, no emotion....terrible. So...no, I've got better things to do.

I too am anxiously awaiting the return of Legends, which is easily the most fun of the Arrowverse shows.
While it’s the most fun, I still think Black Lightning is the best (although I’m behind, haven’t watched any of this season yet so it’s possible it’s dipped in quality).
Arrow is taking an absolute victory lap so far with its last season. It’s lasted long enough that it has its own continuity and history that it is leaning into to pull out good character bits, the threat of the Crisis and Ollie’s “death” hanging over everything is driving the story in a fun, somehow more organic way than past seasons’ overarching plots have, and we’re basically getting a reunion/farewell tour right now, bringing in basically everybody who’s ever been part of the show in fun little ways. It’s been a blast.
Flash has been great when dealing with Crisis stuff, great whenever Joe and/or Wells are on screen, pretty good when dealing with Frost or Ralph, and anywhere from just ok to downright awful when dealing with anything else. I still wish Cisco actually had left last season like he was originally reported to be, because he’s annoying as fuck.
I agree the Batwoman v/o stuff is ATROCIOUS, but everything else about it has surprisingly been pretty good. The chick playing Alice has been awesome, and she makes the show much more fun than it probably should be. I’m in on this.
Supergirl is ass. I can’t believe any of you are still watching.

Supergirl was another largely flashback episode. Still wondering how that pendant (that gives you a black suit, apparently) got blood on it, since Rojas broke a dude's neck. Lena's scheming is probably the most interesting thing going on, though I have mixed feelings about the reason Lena wanted the pendant in the end.
Black Lightning remains the best DC show on the network.
As for last week's Flash, I wondered if Gypsy was really dead, but when they didn't show her face (a stunt or fill-in), it was pretty assured they were axing her for good. Don't know if anyone else noticed the Quantum Leap reference sound effect...kind of an odd inclusion, but hey, TNG had references to the Dirty Pair, so whatever. It is kind of odd that Cisco's actor is sticking around, since I figured him losing his powers (thus making him less effective) was a pretense to him leaving. Also a little puzzling that he was suited up as vibe in Barry's vision. And I guess Indiana Wells was in that last scenario Allen didn't bother to watch.

Supergirl's Leviathan kind of sucks as a secret organization. Their corpse bomb was ineffectual, their one attempt to get the medallion failed, and they leave their emblem for anyone to find.
Great seeing Carl Lumbly again, but...assuming his consciousness is part of the Earth, explaining how he knows where Malefec is...he can't say WHO'S keeping him prisoner? J'onn "must find that out on his own"? It would've been more subtle if he literally just said "for what the CW thinks is dramatic tension." And Pappy Martian "taking responsibility" because J'onn felt bad for him is...kind of stretching things.
Oh, goody...the explosion made Brainy more annoying.
Didn't make much sense for the Fortress computer to add that Lex was the brother of Lena Luthor. She never did anything to warrant that kind of log in the databanks.
Lena's kind of an idiot taking Myriad AFTER firing at Earth guy instead of before. Supergirl was busy fighting him, it would've made more sense to grab it, then modify the gun, THEN fire it, then leave like nothing happened.
Heh...Phil LaMarr with glowing green eyes. That's kind of funny. And his scene confronting J'onn? Felt more earned than Lena's sob story exchange with Supergirl. The acceptance was kind of too quick, though.
Alex and Olsen sister's drama...wasn't interesting. Like they were trying too hard to make it dramatic when it really wasn't.

Flash's undercover episode had a certain charm to it, but unfortunately there was the C-plot of Cecile trying to help out Chester with his love life. I guess he's going to be the next Cisco? That's the impression I got when his face lit up at the prospect of working at STAR Labs.

OK, I'm gonna pull a sort of a mini-apology here:
In order to get ready for Crisis (and because I'm obviously masochistic as hell), I decided over the last couple weeks to binge-catch up on the 2 shows I'd fallen WAAAAAAAY behind on, Black Lightning and Supergirl, and I'm now tro the point where all I have left are t he current seasons of those 2 shows. From what I've seen so far, BL remains the best of the Arrowverse shows (Legends is the most fun, but that's a different criteria), and Supergirl...is still the worst, but I have to give it some credit where credit is due. It's not as entirely devoid of value as I have previously made it out to be.
I think I've decided that even moreso than the rest of the Arrowverse stuff, it benefits greatly from bingeing so you're watching it quickly to just get the big gist rather than watching weekly where it's much easier to sweat the small details. Now sure, any and all romantic relationship stuff they try to do is just terrible, and anytime it gets all preachy and woke it's still mostly irredeemably awful (the whole aliens metaphor running through season 4 is just so ham-fisted and overbearing as to make all the Friends of Huma--- uh, Sons of Liberty plot just almost unbearable), and I'm super-over the guy who plays Brainy (it's like watching Cisco trying to do his "best" Johnny Depp impression ALL. THE. TIME.), but I've always loved Benoist and Harewood and McGrath on this show, any/all of the non-romantic relationship stuff (i.e., when Alex and Kara are just chilling on the couch, or the big near-death scene at the end of S4; Kara and her mom in S3; Lena, Kar and Sam in S3; or any stuff with J'onn and his dad or J'onn with the Danvers girls, etc.) is mostly well done, and anytime they go ahead and lean into actual superhero stuff it's pretty good. I legit enjoyed pretty much the entirety of S4 after Lex showed up and it became clear that EVERYTHING from earlier in the season was all a big Lex plot. Eve and Otis became more fun, the Red Daughter stuff went a little undercooked but was forgivable, the new President's buffoonery was more understandable, and Cryer gave a really fun rendition of Lex. There are still obvious holes in the show, but the big picture stuff is done just well enough to allow me to forgive them in context of a "speed-watch".
But again...still the worst by a pretty healthy margin. My list in terms of my favorites:
Legends BL Arrow Flash (although it and Arrow have mostly always alternated season by season...they're basically interchangeable) Batwoman Supergirl

In the dark, Black Lightning's new suit really, REALLY resembles the Spider-Man 2099 costume.
