That's the weirdest and possibly most unsettling thing about this; places like that are deserted all over. Hell, I have never in my life seen traffic like this save only for the days after 9/11, and even then it wasn't as widespread and it didn't last as long. Upside, those freeways and streets are a lot less trafficked. Air's cleaner too.

Some more good news as dogs and cats are getting cleared out of the shelters by people wanting some comfort getting new pets. Some shelters are nearly empty!

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Positive. Uh ohs, I figured world leaders were very vulnerable to infection, (witness how many people they meet every day), and to death because of their ages. Looks like I was right. The guy better watch out, he's in one of the viruses prime demographics, (strangely, it now seems to be killing a lot of younger adults from the 20s to 40s).

Still, bound to happen sooner or later.

So the shaved ape that dips his face in Cheeto dust is saying "screw you" to thousands of American because he doesn't think New York REALLY needs the ventilators it's requesting. Y'know...for ALL THE COVID-19 PATIENTS THEY HAVE!!! He thinks windmills cause cancer, he thinks there were airports during the Civil War, and he thinks the average American flushes their toilets a dozen times per bathroom visit. But a state with tens of thousands of sick people needing more ventilators, THAT'S just too far-fetched.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Looks like many governments are furious with China, for its role in starting the pandemic, (no, not the silly conspiracy theories, but the gross negligence in allowing wet markets to exist after numerous plagues unleashed by those horrific institutions), covering it up and allowing their people to infect the world with this thing, and then for their continued attempts at lying, (such as blaming the US for engineering and unleashing the thing), generously "giving" test kits that were so faulty, they worsened the problem in the stupid or desperate countries that took them.
The interesting thing is that they all seem to be talking in terms of retribution against China of some sort. Sundry officials in the British, US, and Japanese governments that I've heard of have all made comments to that effect. Good. There absolutely needs to be some form of economic sanctions against China so that the entire world gets the picture that infectious diseases are not something to play around with or use as either political or economic weapons, and to tell the world that wet markets as a matter of planetary safety can't be allowed, for while China is the biggest user of these horrific things, they are far from the only country that has them.
I would also say that the Western press isn't covering themselves in glory sucking up to China while dissing the US just to score points on Trump. It's possible to not like him without sucking up to our enemy. And China is not a friend most times, and in this case has been especially egregious. It's well known China is lying to this day about their infection and death rates; it has been noted that signs indicate that the real death toll in China is far higher than the reported rate; observers have simply talked to mortuary workers in that city, who indicate orders for funeral urns are more than double the official rate of COVID-19 deaths.

Here's a question I have, why have we not seen a catastrophic death toll among the homeless? If there's ever a population that is so completely vulnerable to this thing, it's them. They live in all weather mostly outdoors, which has to depress even a healthy person's immune system, and they live very close together in those camps, in squalor and filth, and they don't wash their hands or cough into their elbows or anything like that.
I mean it's good we haven't, but I want to know why.
Meanwhile, I'm troubled by some of the draconian decrees state governors have been making. For example, one governor has tasked state police and National Guard with hunting down New Yorkers in her state and basically arresting them and holding them forcibly in quarantine. Yes, we need quarantines and social distancing right now, and yes those New Yorkers need to be tested....but there is NO Constitutional basis for any of this. In other words, it's highly illegal.

And now for a PSA on how to wash your hands, from Zeke!

A bit of info about COVID-19. While you can ingest it by eating say fruit covered in the virus, it likely won't sicken you that way, as the stomach's acid should kill it. Notice the "should" part. After handling store bought produce or really anything from the store, wash your hands as kindly demonstrated by Zeke the viral in a different way chameleon in the post above. Don't breath someone's sneeze or cough and you should be okay. Not doing that is the trick however, as we don't really know how long it lingers in the air, or how widely it can spread in the air.
So basically, while you can certainly eat something covered by the virus, it shouldn't sicken you that way.

What are the industries that will benefit from this? I can think of a few off hand. Take out fast food joints. Any restaurant that can establish a viable take-out or delivery service. I noticed Denny's is offering FREE delivery. Smart idea on their part I say, it might just allow them to hang on. RVs are going to take off, I would think, as people shy away from planes, trains, or automobiles, (RIP John Candy), they might gravitate to RVs for their family vacations. Streaming and other online content providers.
