Some thoughts on various games I’ve tried since getting Nintendo Switch Online:
Doomsday Warrior
Not as bad as I expected, but much more tolerable due to quality of life elements. Awkward controls, some weird lore, and some nigh impossible bosses keep this from greatness.
Matsumoto Championship Wrestling
I really wanted to like this, but the learning curve is too steep. I was still struggling after looking at the instruction manual, and an in-depth YouTube video.
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
Nothing spectacular, but an interesting artifact from decades ago. It’s an old-school Resident Evil style game on a handheld. Combat and movement are not exquisite in execution, but it still has some charm.
MLB: The Show 23
Considering the amount of micro transactions in this game, I’m surprised that it’s a premium release. Beyond that, there were quite a few pleasant surprises. I loved having the ability to play as Minor League teams. Gameplay was mostly fun on its own. A lot of cool presentation stuff in its current iteration. Just very hard to justify $60+ a year for this or other sports games or its ilk (regardless of gameplay quality).

It's not MLB and the characters are all chibi, but it is $.99 and I've heard decent things.
There are a few wrestling games on Switch (not free online though), have you tried any of them? Any good?

I thought about it, but skeptical with limited options tied to it at the moment. I haven’t tried the stand alone games on the system, but I thought about getting AEW Fight Forever. Backed down from getting it due to concerns with how it’d perform on Switch.
