This book is good. Y'all, it is SO GOOD. My God, just pack this in an IV and mainline it straight into my vein, this is SOOOOO in my wheelhouse it kinda scares me.
Zdarsky & Bagley are running a master class here; this is much more "What If?" than I expected (actually maybe more Elseworlds than What If?, if that makes sense...I mean obviously a Spidey story that actually covers 6 decades is gonna be an alternate U type story, but it's doing more alt-history stuff than I expected, like some of the heroes actually going to Vietnam and the effects of stuff like that on how the world develops, etc.), but Zdarsky is hitting a ton of the classic Spidey moments and beats, like Flash in the army, Harry's dabbling in drugs, Prof. Warren and his infatuation, and the Pete-Gwen-MJ triangle, from a fresh angle and really making them work, while Bags is turning out what may be career-best work. Two issues in, it has been absolutely fantastic.

It sounds like this is something I'm missing out on.
I might just have to find the issues I've missed so far

It sounds like this is something I'm missing out on. I might just have to find the issues I've missed so far I read them and I love it. I didn't realize it plays in real time (ala JB's Generations).

So good. Zdarsky write great Spider-man. He could make Italian Spider-man a top tier book

Harry's goblin costume was sweet, and somewhat unexpected

Issue #3. Nowhere near as good as #1 & 2. But then I'm not a symbiot/Venom fan. I wish they spent more time on {Spoiler} Kraven

I was a little disappointed with the third issue. I was hoping that the Secret War would be some Vietnam thing.

Another good issue, but the war with Russia pushes this a bit too much into What if territory. Okay, the 90's.Clone Saga,Venom...and thats about it.

Got pretty dark with issue 3 (how the hell is Zdarsky gonna out-grim & gritty this for the 90s and 00s and still make it even semi-readable???), but I still liked it. It remains a really neat book in concept and execution so far.
