Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - Well, several months after the films' initial release and 4 days after purchasing it, I finally finished watching Into the Spider-Verse. I have wanted to see this film since I saw the first trailer well over a year ago and I have heard a lot about it. A. Lot. Honestly, I felt like it was going to be extremely diifficult if not nigh impossible to live up to the expectations that were building...I am relieved that I was wrong. Into the Spider-Verse absolutely lived up to every expectation that I had about it and even surpassed them. It was an absolutely delightful film. It was visually stunning, the soundtrack was phenomenal, the voice cast was extraordinary, and it told a spectacular story. Easily the best Spider-Man film to date by a long shot. Perhaps the best thing about it? My kids absolutely love it too. I can not recommend this film enough.

I loved Into the Spiderverse The only thing that I can really think to complain about was the lack of Ganke, which I attribute to virtually every single thing about the character being used for Peter's friend Ned in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Aside from that, the film was damn near flawless.

Aside from that, the film was damn near flawless. I've never read a lot of Miles Morales' solo adventures so I don't have a lot of emotional attachment to his supporting cast and as a result that didn't bother me as much. If I had that emotional attachment I'd probably feel the same.

1) This was on tv and I have to get the dvd so I can pause and look at all the little background references.
2) This says something about Marv Wolman and George Perez's run on 'Teen Titans' when these are the Teen Titan characters that are constantly used.

Friday the 13th The Final Chapter. Which wasnt nearly the final chapter. Everyone who worked on it wanted it to be the last one, cause they were basically embarrassed and ashamed by the series by then. But, it made money and the studio had dollar signs in their eyes.

To quote Joe Bob Briggs - They made the same movie nine times, that takes talent.

Aquaman - I finally watched the 2018 Jason Momoa film and I've got to say that it was absolutely, 100%, totally...fine. It was alright. Good but not great. Definitely not a franchise saver by any means. I feel like if it would have been released back in 2008 alongside Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk, it may have been a slightly better film but it just felt dated. The film's over reliance on wide-open, CGI heavy shots felt less on par with modern day MCU films and more on par with virtually any of the Michael Bay Transformer sequels. Still, it was better than I would have expected an Aquaman movie to be. In terms of DC Cinematic Universe films, I would rate this second only to Wonder Woman. That's not saying much, Batman v Superman and Justice League just weren't very good. At least this film was serviceable and it built enough of a foundation that I would be interested in a sequel.
