The actor known all too well for playing a glittering vampire is set to play the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' The Batman.
Honestly, this doesn't bother me. I think I've only seen him as that one Harry Potter character, and he was fine. He's been in plenty of non-Twilight stuff, I think mostly indie work (not that I've seen any of it). It'll depend on what the script is like, because the writing is what killed Affleck's Batman.

Well, you can't have a successful thread without bitching, so here you go, and you're welcome: Great, a sparkly Batman who plays baseball and is great at...batting. He will take off his shirt for the entire movie, even when he's being Batman. And...I'm not to interested anymore, someone else should right something much snarkier...

I neither love or hate this choice. I have only really ever seen him in the Harry Potter series and the first Twilight film, which was so remarkably forgettable that I don't have any reason to question his ability as an actor.
My concern for any upcoming Batman film is rooted solely in my overall dissatisfaction with Warner Bros. DC related films in general. Wonder Woman was good,Aquaman was just ok, and I look forward to their respective sequels but that's about it. Justice League and Batman v Superman were both abysmal, pretentious, trash and heretofore I have absolutely no interest in the upcoming Joker film whatsoever.

So, I miss them all, the good ones and the bad. I have a 3 year old and a 10 month old. The amount of times that I can actually get out to go to the movies is finite at best, so I have to be incredibly selective of which movies I chose to see in theaters. Marvel Studios films have dominated that list, simply because they are the best superhero films being made right now and they are typically enjoyable for multiple demographics of moviegoers. |

So...WHY? Could they not find a more suited actor to play Batman? Was Sparkles the cheapest guy who'd agree to being a WB (one movie) Batman just until the inevitable reboot?
