Word Association Game - DC and Marvel Appreciation - Name Game - Hanna Barbera Appreciation - Cover Game - This or That Game - Indy Appreciation - Etc. Etc. Etc.
Can these threads be fun? Sure, some more than others on any given day. Do they up your overall post count? Yup.
But is that enough to justify them in our new home?
At the Outhouse, it just seemed that the list of threads in the forum (Newstand/Asylum) were getting overwhelmed with the game/appreciation threads. As more of those threads were being made, threads that actually talked about comics or what not dwindled. One reason I think for that is they were being drowned out. Discussions dropped to the second page of lists and died too quick.
Now I admit I've done my share contributing to this, but we've just crossed over to Earth Z. It's a new world. I'd love to talk about comics again.
Maybe our new overlords can make a board just for those kind of threads. Maybe not.
So Comic Spitters, what do you think?

I never saw that as a problem, since I was perfectly capable of not clicking on a thread that didn't interest me. That said, if it does bother you, perhaps maybe merging similar threads, or starting them up in such a way as to make them more general? But then if you ARE interested, you might have to wade through a lot of posts that seem to be OT or posts that don't interest you personally. Sort of like a general comic book appreciation thread when you may only be interested in Archie Comics, but have to wade through a bunch of posts on DC or Marvel. So maybe individual threads for each might be better? And character app threads like say the old Cassandra Cain one, or the Power Girl one...may not get a fast rate of posts (unless draco or someone else feels in the mood), but then again it makes it much easier to find those posts. I don't know, there are pros and cons to both approaches. But I did especially like those sorts of threads. And I think there were other reasons as to why the comic threads got a bit overwhelmed. Decline in perceived quality for example, (the advent of DC's nu52, the shelving of characters and groups of characters like the JSA, LOSH, LEGION in DC for example), changing entertainment habits---comic book movies and TV took up a lot of posts rather than the actual comic books...

I don't mind all of the game threads, it's the never ending amount of appreciation threads that bug me.

A separate "shelf" sounds good though, from me, that's not because i found them to be in the way I just like organization lol Like, yeah, I want a complete feed of ALL the threads so i can see what's been updated (as was the Asylum center itself) But Depending on mood, the themed sections are nice. Like a "Forum Games" section, since I suppose Appreciation Threads could also be considered such.
And on that note of sections: dear staff, could we get the Creator's Corner opened? I see that its there (yay!) but cant click on it 👀

I put them there because they are comic related. It looked like all things not comic related went into the Pit.

You're saying you don't appreciate them… That is a difficult question to answer because you see, I myself created an official, unofficial, thread appreciation appreciation thread on the Outhouse. That being said, the sheer number of things that were being appreciated at any given time was a bit overwhelming.

Dozens of threads with nothing but random pictures that are forgotten by the next post of another random picture, shake rinse and repeat (times 10, 20 30 different threads). Just seems 'meh' to me as we're starting a new site.

I'm not opposed to an appreciation thread here or there but if you are just arbitrarily throwing out appreciation threads all wily nilly, then it sorta undercuts the whole thing.
