Any kind of music, from any era. My own taste is kind of eclectic. Basically, this is a thread to not only mention your own favorites, but also for everyone else to maybe get some ideas for new things (to them) to listen to.
So...The Rolling Stones---mostly everything they ever did, Creedence Clearwater Revival---again, mostly everything---I like blues influenced rock/Southern rock, the Beatles, The Who, terrifying Justice League villains, David Bowie---again, pretty much everything, Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Prince, Queen, Jefferson Airplane, B-52s, Go-Gos, Katrina and the Waves, Cindy Lauper, The Bangles, Wall of Voodoo, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Glenn Fry, Joe Jackson...damn, this could go on and on. Maybe I'll continue in another post.
More broadly, I like classic rock, Southern rock, blues, jazz, different kinds of metal, punk, some select disco, new wave, surf rock, some grunge, a very, very select bit of rap, some classical.

Alltime fave band is, and for the foreseeable future shall always remain, Green Day. There's just something about their formula that rings deep with me. Those guys are the brothers I never had 💚💚💚

... does anyone know how to post videos (specifically, for this thread, music videos 😉 ) here/on Tapatalk? They have a "code insert" thing, but nothing clarifying videos.

The Beatles.
A distant second and onward (in no particular order)... John Lennon, Wilco, Elliott Smith, The Damned, Paul Weller/Jam/Style Council, XTC, the Smiths, David (pre-1978) Bowie, Pink Floyd, Azure Ray, Billy Bragg, Television, Kate Bush, Belle & Sebastian and Still Little Fingers.
If I were to recommend any one act to anyone, it'd be Elliott Smith. In my opinion he is the the greatest song writer there'll ever be (and I'm a huge Lennon fan). Musically he was so bloody gifted. Lyrically, pure genius.
His song Between the Bars - I listened to it dozens of times; a story of young lovers out for a night on the town, sharing a kiss between bar stops. Then came a day weeks later, while being bored in a meeting, I ran the melody through my head and it struck me - hard. The lovers weren't Elliott and some girl. It was Elliott and his own alcoholism.
So many of his songs take on a second (intended) meaning. There's a reason there are those who call him the Torment King. Elliott was able to weave together his pains, his addictions, his joys, etc. into songs that stay with you long after they'd ended.
I discovered his talents too late. Elliott killed himself back in 2003 by stabbing himself in the heart - TWICE!
If there were any one performer I could go back in time to see a show; Woodstock, the Beatles at Shea or their rooftop concert, Pink Floyd Animals, Jeff Buckley, etc. all would be skipped for a chance to have seen Elliott on stage.

Oof, that's brutal. Sad to say I've never heard of him. Question, who wrote most of the Beatles' songs, John or Paul? I admit to liking metalcore and specifically Killswitch Engage...though I've gotten plenty of ribbing for that.

Like Katrina and the Waves' "Walking on Sunshine", but I listened to it recently, and, heh, with lyrics about waiting for her BF to WRITE her a LETTER had me laughing a bit. Sort of outdated now; I don't know anyone who writes letters anymore, save maybe in response to an invitation or something.

Question, who wrote most of the Beatles' songs, John or Paul? While all their songs are credited to "Lennon-McCartney" the breakout is really: 60 - Lennon (by himself) 16 - Lennon (with a bit of help from Paul) 08 - true Lennon-McCartney collaborations 18 - McCartney (with a bit of help from John) 52 - McCartney (by himself)
