People tend to discount that one as it was not put out by the official Bond folk (sort of like they discount Never Say Never Again.)

Some people maybe - but not this guy Imo - There's not a whole lot of continuity when jumping from one Bond to the next, so there's no reason not to call Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again as actual "Bond" films. Besides, Fleming was big on wanting David Niven to play Bond before Connery got the gig and that has to count for something. And I'd bet that there's just as many people who discount On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Octopussy, or any other Bond film that the viewer thinks sucked.
