That one hurts. He was my favorite baseball player as a boy. Great commentator, too. He and George Kell were a fantastic play-by-play team. RIP Mr. Kaline. I liked Willie Horton the most but Al Kaline was a solid 2nd fave for me. I lost his autograph I got as a kid, it was signed Al K_________ . I always chuckle when I think about it.

In MLB news, or what counts as MLB news these days, coming up on a month into what should have been the season.... Bigfoot And Aliens Team Up! AKA, Jose Canseco Is Weird!I'll give him this though, I never gave that a thought! It took a guy who NEVER, EVER injected himself in the butt with steroids, (Maguire did it for him), to enlighten me as to the dangers of Bigfoot and Aliens being susceptible to COVID-19! I'm willing to be few people not writing for Syfy ever gave that a thought... And that's the news in sports these days, pro or otherwise.

Damn, can the Red Sox EVER recover from that brutal slapdown MLB gave them for cheating?!? I mean damn, that had to hurt! But I am SO glad that a dangerous hourly employee was the only one at fault, and that the players and managers who actually did the cheating somehow weren't cheating... ...Glad that's cleared up. Though I hope the Sox's wrists aren't all broken and bleeding from that slap.

My personal life allows me to venture to a different College and NFL game every year since 1996. My life had me move to outside of Boston a couple decades ago. And in all those place, across all that time, the worst sports fans I've ever experienced are Boston Red Sox fans. I'd love for further punishment including the 2018 championship to be voided. Oh sweet sweet schadenfreude, bring it to them! Mwa-ha-ha!

Best Wishes To Oriole's Star Trey Mancini. As he struggles against cancer. But as he said, if baseball does come back this year, it will be without him. The chemo will be hard on him I'm sure, but hopefully he kicks cancer's ass.

Sports of sorts have started to return. NASCAR will soon be turning left again, and both Taiwan and South Korean pro baseball are airing....and in the BIGGEST event in boxing is going to happen late next year! Yes, Bjorn Halfthorson (the Mountain from GoT...one of them anyway, the scariest looking, the guy who just broke the other guy's world record deadlift, at get this, 1,104 pounds. I too can lift that much, a beer at a time. Not all at once like him. He's boxing Eddie Hall, the guy whose record he broke. So, the two strongest humans alive will...box. Billed as the heaviest boxing match ever, it will certainly disappoint, since boxing is a skill itself that I doubt either of them knows. Might be funny though.

Well, sports news I guess. A Mike Trout rookie card in near mint condition, signed, sold for $900,000 dollars, the record for any "modern day" baseball card. Understandable, I guess, but still amazing considering his rookie season wasn't THAT long ago for that kind of money. Still, it IS Mike Trout...

Is it really just because it's a "rookie" card or was it a "special limited directors only holographic laser etched made out of human skin rookie" card?

It does give you a ticket to see the guy who gave this Trout person his skills---in exchange for Trout's soul or maybe a Starbucks coffee, (grande). Sadly, the ticket is one way...so don't stare into Mike Trout's eyes unless you want to meet the Devil...

I am a big enough baseball fan that this appeals to me: www.sportscasting.com/rent-blue-wahoos-minor-league-stadium-on-airbnb/Oh, I can think of ALL the things I'd do with that, some of them legal and advisable. Also, damn, that place is in a NICE location, right on the water! At $1500 a night, certainly pricey, but scrape together enough for two nights, and it's a nice vacation for hardcore baseball fans.
