To all those in the US, happy Turkey Day! To all others, Turkey Day is our annual celebration of football and turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce induced comas. It's in honor of...turkey farmers I suppose, as well as those turkeys that took over that town like a biker gang.
So, what is it, Pitsters, roast, deep fried, or Turduckin? Family over, or restaurant? And what are your trimmings? Football in the offing?
In any case, happy Turkey Day!

Back home after a big dinner with several sibs and spouses and about to slide into the tryptophan coma. Will repeat the process tomorrow with a big pan of leftovers at lunch. Later, my wife will take me to dinner for my birthday at a restaurant that gives a 1% per year discount on birthdays. I'mma chow down on ribeye!
Hope you all enjoyed your Turkey Day and have a great weekend!

Sadly, not everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. I was watching the local news before football or the parade or dogshow, and there was a reporter at some Target or something, and she interviewed some random unhappy looking woman. It was terrible, a real disaster. The poor woman, who looked in her fifties or sixties, was asked by the reporter who was at home making the turkey. It turned out there was no one at home, her mother had just died, leaving her apparently alone in the world, and the poor lady started crying. The reporter hugged her and told her she wasn't alone...
It really brought home the actual meaning of the holiday for me, to be thankful for what you've got. I hope the poor lady had a better rest of her day, and gets some help to get over the grief and move on with her life.
