I've been reading Electric Warriors by DC. I've been enjoying it, but reading series like this that take place in the "future" of either the DC or Marvel Universe aren't the same as reading series set in the present of either universe. I've always found it a little funny that these series, when they're being published, are treated as an official future of that company's universe. In the back of my mind I'm always thinking, "How long until some other story is published with something that make this series' future universe impossible to be the actual future?"
It's unfortunately in the nature of a comic book shared universe that having an official future timeline impossible to set in stone. At least I think so.

Sometimes it's not story events that nullify/change things, it can also be the clock on "our" world...
Deathlok's story started in 1990. Killraven is supposed to be running around fighting Martians in 2018. The Atomic Knights fought Black Baron in 1990 after the Hydrogen War of 1983. Next year is when Kitty is sent back in time to 1980 in X-Men Days of Future Past. Tommy Tomorrow flew across the galaxy in 1988.

We're not in that year yet, but we're so close that there's no way to get from Tony Stark to Arno Stark in so short a time.

Tony has become such a jerk all he would really have to do is change his name to Arno and he would be right there.

If Tony were to change his name we'd have an Arno Stark as Iron Man, but still not the character readers know as Iron Man 2020.

Clearly none of you are aware/remember that we have an Arno Stark already, as a result of the whole bullshit "Tony isn't really a Stark" storyline from a few years ago.
