Kowloon Generic Romance Manga Gets TV Anime, Live-Action Film in 2025

Shueisha announced on Friday that Jun Mayuzuki's Kowloon Generic Romance manga is inspiring both a television anime and live-action film which will both debut in 2025. The combined official website for both projects is streaming a teaser trailer that reveals the cast and footage for both projects.

Yen Press is releasing the manga in English and describes the story:

Welcome to Kowloon Walled City: a dystopian townscape where the people are brimming with nostalgia, and where the past, present, and future converge. Amid the hidden emotions and extraordinary daily lives of the men and women working in its confines, a tale of romance begins to unfold for real estate agent Reiko Kujirai―one that feels as familiar as Kowloon itself…

Gintama's Spinoff TV Anime 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei Unveils, Visual, Cast, Staff, October 2025 Debut

The "Gintama Channel 4-Shuu-nen Kinen & Sakata Gintoki Bakutan Kinen 2024" (Gintama Channel 4th Year Anniversary & Gintoki Sakata Sudden Emergence Anniversary 2024) livestream on Thursday revealed that the anime adaptation of 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei (Class 3-Z's Teacher Ginpachi), Tomohito Ōsaki's spinoff novel series of Hideaki Sorachi's Gintama manga, will air on TV Tokyo in October 2025. An official website opened to unveil a visual, staff, cast, and a super teaser promotional video. Aside from some work in progress, the trailer did not have any footage and explained that the actual trailer will debut at Jump Festa 2025 on December 21 at 3:40 p.m. JST.

Ōsaki's spinoff novel series is set in Gintama High School and follows the school teacher Ginpachi Sakata (despite not having the personality or appearance befitting a teacher) and his students. The story first debuted in 2006.

Tasokare Hotel TV Anime Reveals 1st Trailer Video, Opening Theme Song, Artist

The staff for the television anime adaptation of SEEC's Tasokare Hotel mobile game revealed the anime's first trailer video and its opening theme song "TASOKARE" by Kayoko Yoshizawa, on Thursday. The anime's staff also revealed that it will have an advance screening of the first three episodes on December 10 at Animate Theater in Tokyo.

The anime will premiere in January 2025.

It's Anime! describes the anime adaptation's story:

"TASOKARE HOTEL" is a hotel that is engulfed in twilight all day long, with no distinction between day and night.

It exists as a place between life and death, where souls unable to decide whether to move on to the afterlife or return to the present world can rest their wings.

The protagonist, Neko Tsukahara, wanders into "TASOKARE HOTEL" without remembering who she is or why she's there.

Guided by the hotel staff, she is led to her room.

"There should be items related to the customer's memories in the room. These might serve as clues to help the customer regain their memories."

While searching for a way to return to the present world and remembering who she is, she encounters a certain incident...

Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms TV Anime Confirms January 2025 Premiere

The upcoming rom-com anime adaptation of Ran Kuze’s Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms manga sent a letter today to rush everyone to the classroom and confirm that the series will premiere in January 2025.

Kodansha USA publishes an official English version of the manga and describes the story as such:

Mona is the cutest girl in school, and she knows it. In fact, she has everyone wrapped around her pretty little finger—everyone, that is, except Medaka Kuroiwa, a recent transfer student. Sk8 the Infinity OVA Reveals March 19 Release with Theatrical Premiere on January 24

The official X/Twitter account for the Sk8 the Infinity anime project revealed on Saturday a new visual, commercial, and March 19 release date for the new original video anime (OVA) Sk8 the Infinity Extra Part. The OVA will also get an early theatrical screening on January 24 for a limited time across 10 theaters in Japan.

The four episodes within the OVA are titled "Ame to Neko Conbini Ice Soda Aji," "Maji de Maji ni Nareru Koto," "Morning Routine," and "Ganbare Hiromi-chan!"

The original anime centers on Reki, a second-year high school student who loves skateboarding, and gets caught up in "S," an underground and dangerous skateboard race with no rules at an abandoned mine. Langa, who has returned to Japan from Canada and has never skateboarded before, also gets wrapped up in S. Dirty racers, AI racers, and other unique individuals compete in the "youth skateboard race battle."

FUUTO PI: Kamen Rider Skull no Shōzō Anime Film Streams Clip, Reveals Visual

The official X/Twitter account for the FUUTO PI anime based on the Fūto Tantei manga revealed a two-minute clip on Friday of the Fūto Tantei: Kamen Rider Skull no Shōzō (FUUTO PI: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull) anime film.

The film will screen for a limited time in Japanese theaters starting on November 8. The film will tell the story of the beginning of Kamen Rider W.

My Hero Academia Anime Gets 'Final Season' in 2025

The final 21st episode of the seventh season of the My Hero Academia anime aired on Saturday, and announced that the anime's next season will be the final season. The final season is slated to debut in 2025. In the below video, Deku states, "This is the story of how we became the greatest heroes," before announcing the final season.

Lockdown Zone: Level X 'Light Anime' Gets 2nd Season

Animation ID announced on Saturday that the "light anime" based on Romy Oishi's Lockdown Zone: Level X (Kankin Kuiki Level X) story is getting a second season.

Denpa published the manga simultaneously with the Japanese release, and it describes the manga:

Ryoka is awakened by flurry of text messages from her mother! Panicked and rushed, Mom is clearly concerned for Ryoka's safety but she is not to keen on letting her daughter know why. The official website for Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita: Sono Ni (I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level 2), the second season of the television anime of Kisetsu Morita's I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level (Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita) light novel series, revealed the new season's first promotional video on Saturday. The video reveals that the series will debut in April 2025.

WIND BREAKER Season 2 Anime Premieres in April 2025

The impending showdown between Bofurin and KEEL now has an official date! A brand-new teaser trailer released for delinquent action anime WIND BREAKER today announced that Season 2 will begin airing in April 2025, while also confirming the casting of Ryota Osaka (Satan in The Devil is a Part-Timer!) as Tasuku Tsubakino.

Crunchyroll streams the first season in a range of subs and dubs, describing the story like so:

TOHO to Acquire N. American Animation Distributor GKIDS as Its Subsidiary

North American animation distributor GKIDS announced on Tuesday that Japanese entertainment company TOHO has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of GKIDS for an undisclosed amount. GKIDS, which has offices in New York and Los Angeles, will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of TOHO International, which is based in Los Angeles.

Gundam Silver Phantom VR Anime Streams 2nd Promo Video

Gundam.info streamed the second promotional video for Bandai Namco Filmworks and virtual reality (VR) production company Atlas V's Mobile Suit Gundam Silver Phantom feature-length VR anime on Tuesday.

The story takes place years after the events of the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime, when an Earth commander defects to a new group formed from the remaining Neo Zeon members, and a mercenary group is hired to go after her.
