I'm sure Floyd would much rather have had that day not happen as opposed to being thanked for getting murdered.
On other news, Lebron James threatened and endangered the life of an Ohio shooting of a teen black girl who was trying to murder several women with a large knife, and was less than a second away from killing another black teen girl. Needless to say, Biden and the rest of the Dems and media were heavily critical of the cops, suggesting that they let the would be killer kill, or simply magically turn into Batman. Sadly, some of them basically said that, again betraying their total ignorance of something they desperately want to ban, guns.
The silly suggestion which always happens with police shootings that are obviously justified, was that the police shoot the girl in her gun hand, or her leg. I would have invited that reporter, (who asked that question of the police chief), to try it. Only in the movies can even the best shot hit someone's hand, and that's if they're close and the other person is not moving. It's also hard to hit someone in the leg. And is a very good way to kill someone BTW, by severing the femoral artery. It's also been demonstrated that under stress, such as a supposed threat to your life, you don't shoot very well at all, for reasons I won't get into. Also, that means they might miss and hit an innocent bystander.
The video of the Ohio incident BTW is very clear, and shows the dead girl viciously trying to stab to death a girl in pink. So there's no question on that, and the police do have the power to use lethal force to save their own lives, (which were also in danger), and those of others, like the girl in pink. The would be killer was much bigger than the girl in pink, and the knife was inches away from killing the other girl.

Jesus, if true, Newsom shouldn't just be impeached, he should be arrested. The idea of using fighter planes to buzz our own civilians within California to disperse them is....kind of amazing.
That said, I'd be cautious about this. For now.

The John Kerry situation is interesting and well, kind of serious. The word treason comes to mind. In any event, he's been charged with giving the Iranians information on Israeli strikes against Iranian troops in Syria....as a civilian after serving under Obama....by the Iranian FM himself. Which tells the world not to ever trust the US with anything, especially if you are a US ally. That we will intentionally betray you to your and our own worst enemy, (well, one of them). He was said, (in a leaked interview with the FM), to have told him straight out about over 200 Israeli operations. The FM said he was astonished as Kerry just started telling him about this.
Needless to say, Republicans are upset and demand he be investigated, (and are wondering what he told them when he WAS with the Obama Administration and not just a private citizen), the media are trying to ignore the scandal, (the NYT buried that part of the story on page 27 somewhere for example, and tried to downplay it). Their big takeaway BTW was the well known fact that the Republican Guard is in charge in Iran, NOT the official Iranian government, telling them what policy is, and telling them things like that they were going to attack US troops after we blew up their top terrorist.....the FM said WE, meaning the Americans, knew the strike was going to happen before he did. This has been common knowledge for years, decades.

Derrick Chauvan, or however you spell it, I don't care, was convicted on all three counts in his role in the death of George Floyd.
I'm of a few thoughts on that. Chavan was guilty as hell of something, (I don't know the law there, so I can't guess at exactly what)....but the defense made valid points. Floyd was probably a walking dead man at that point, police or no, given he had three times the lethal limit for fentanyl, a vastly more lethal than heroin drug---seriously, just touching a bit of that drug the size of a small grain of sand killed a cop responding to a different crime scene years ago. I was offered a time-release patch of that stuff---in hospital, and absolutely refused it because I'd heard about how many deaths it caused, and that was even though I was in severe pain.
I don't really buy the car exhaust thing. I suppose it's remotely possible, but come on.
The moves the cops used on Floyd can certainly kill, but given the amount of fentanyl in his system, it's hard to tell how much it contributed.
I think Chauvan had a beef with Floyd beforehand.....and his treatment of the man might be just an opportunity for Chauvan to hurt Floyd. "Guilty as hell of something..." Riiiiiiiiight... So you're going with DELIBERATE IGNORANCE, and can't come up with the fact that he's guilty of MURDER. You're deliberately not even mentioning THE NINE MINUTES AND TWENTY-NINE SECONDS OF VIDEO OF CHAUVIN KNEELING ON FLOYD'S NECK, so you can justify distracting yourself with the defense's "Shiny Object!" of fentanyl. As so many people have told Doubting Thomases like you, go lay down in the street and have a man of Chauvin's size and weight kneel on YOUR neck for over 9 minutes; then you can experience for yourself that this was indeed the cause of death.
Face it; you just don't want to believe the TRUTH, that this COP is guilty of MURDER. Typical right-wing mentality: Refuse to hold the police ACCOUNTABLE.
If you agree with the judge on THAT PART, then you should agree with THE REST OF HIS ASSESSMENT. The jury was told not to consume any media during the trial, so THEY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT WATERS'S STATEMENT. Therefore, it couldn't affect their ruling, and thus, IT WAS IRRELEVANT TO THE TRIAL. That's why he refused the defense's request to declare a mistrial.
Let me guess: Faux News/Newsmax/OAN/whatever right-wing media you learned of the judge's statement from CONVENIENTLY LEFT OUT THAT PART, huh? And here you are, foolishly parroting it without the rest of the facts because they told you the ONE PART you wanted to hear. Whatta surprise.
In any case, spare us the right-winger FAKE OUTRAGE and pearl clutching. You people sat through FOUR YEARS OF FUHRER TRUMP'S INCENDIARY TWEETS AND OTHER STATEMENTS, and REFUSED TO HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE. Even after HE INCITED THE CAPITOL RIOT, which is something Waters's statement HAS NOT DONE. So don't even bother getting on your high horse NOW; you have NO sanctimonious standing, if you ever did.
Also, you DO realize that the civil rights movement is ALL ABOUT being -- brace yourself, because I'm gonna repeat that word Waters used that you right-wingers CLAIM to be so intimidated about! -- "CONFRONTATIONAL" in a nonviolent way. Indeed, MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. directly wrote about this:
“True pacifism,” or “nonviolent resistance,” King wrote, is “a courageous confrontation of evil by the power of love” (King, Stride, 80).
And I suppose now you want to convict HIM of sedition posthumously. Typical right-wing idiocy...
And AGAIN, I find it interesting how the same person who can't even conceive of the word MURDER as the verdict for Chauvin because of some lame excuse like "I don't know the law there," can suddenly and eagerly cough up the word SEDITION, and NOW you "can easily see a number of legal reasons SCOTUS would either rule in Chauvan's favor, and either order a new trial, or overturn the verdict" when it comes to Waters. Conveniently going from Gomer Pyle to Matlock wannabe in a few paragraphs, I see. And why?? Because, unlike Chauvin, you WANT Waters to be convicted of SOMEthing, ANYTHING. Funny how fast your DELIBERATE IGNORANCE about the law evaporated when it was something you WANTED to see! As in court, MOTIVATION is key.

You should be cautious of ANYTHING coming from Faux News...
(It's what they get for taking their cue from their equally disreputable sister publication, the New York Post...)
ANYTHING coming from Faux News...
They're too "Poorly Educated!" to even know that BEER IS MADE FROM PLANTS, NOT MEAT...
"Fact-checks??!! We don't need no stinkin' fact-checks!!"
But they DO love RACISM! Just ask the RACISTS:
Even a few Faux News hosts just HAVE to call out Faux News's insanity every once in a while:
The CLEAR takeaway is this:

RIP Johnny Crawford, who played the son of The Rifleman, a black and white Western TV series from way back, (I discovered it a few years ago on one of those old show rerun channels). He and Chuck Connors, who played The Rifleman himself. Like many other old shows like that, it features actors from before they were famous, like Dennis Hopper, Jaws from the Bond movies, and many others. Both actors reprized their roles for one final time in one of the Gambler special movies in the late 80s, along with a host of other famous actors and characters from old Western TV shows, (one of the Maverick brothers for example, David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine, and of course Rodgers himself as the title character. His cause of death was not revealed, but in 2019 he was diagnosed with Alzheimers, and then caught COVID and got pneumonia. He was also a professional singer, and acted until very recently. He was 75.
Also in the sad news category, Micheal Collins died yesterday. If you said "who", that's his tragedy; one of the greatest heroes in human history, and people only remember the other two, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Collins was the one who did not get to land on the moon, but stayed up in the command module as the pilot. RIP to a great hero, he was 90, I think. Aldrin BTW is still alive, but even older, sadly.

Let them fight! At first, I was happy about our recall election for Newsom, as I thought it would be another totally insane thing we do that is kind of entertaining. Well, I was right about the insane bit. Yes, we have Jenner running, and a guy who evidently wants us to vote for him because he's best friends with a bear or something, (he did a rather badass presser where he totally ignored the Kodiak Bear restlessly stalking right behind him---without ever looking behind or looking worried), Randy Quaid has said he's interested, and I think we could use his sanity in this state, so I hope he follows through. It's also occurred to me we need Mel Gibson to run just so someone can get him really drunk right before any debate....just to see what would happen. And damn if Charlie Sheen wouldn't contribute to my summertime entertainment...imagine the first Gov of California to have Adonis blood and tiger DNA. I'm also holding out for Alissa Milano to join the field and have a nervous breakdown. We do have a porn star running, just like last time. Who else could run to make it an even funnier race?
I have to admit Newsom's clever tactic of releasing hundreds of thousands of prisoners in California, including tens of thousands of lifers, (and you practically have to murder the Pope, a convent full of nuns, eat puppies, and write the screenplay to "Glitter" to get a life term), has me puzzled. I mean I certainly feel safer now, and I'm sure everyone else does too, but what if by some chance, the thought of sharing the local Starbucks with a guy who eats faces for fun isn't as appealing as it sounds?

Jesus, just when I thought Los Angeles DA Gascon couldn't get any more evil and disgusting, he wouldn't let one of his DA go for death penalty charges for two torture murderers of their own child. Instead, the most he can shoot for is life in prison. Which means nothing, judging from how quickly Newsom has already thrown open the prisons and let people go who already had "life in prison". Which is now proven to be a pointless charge.
Keep in mind that this little kid's family had it easy. Gascon at least would let his DAs prosecute that case. He won't even file charges in most cases, ruling entire classes of crimes to no longer be crimes, or at least ones he'd prosecute.
