So I was driving along the local Marine base, (long ago stopped being an active base and now is in cleanup from all the toxics, (this was the big hangers for blimps that was featured often on Mythbusters as it's one of the largest soundstages in the world). Anyhow, there's an outdoor beergarden sort of place, and as I was passing I noticed a huge coyote eating scraps just a dozen or so feet from a group of people, who were eyeing it uncertainly. I can tell them from experience, leave and let the coyote have a sausage or whatever it was after. It was the middle of the day, big street to cross, I guess that place is on it's regular list. After it crosses the street, it's one the former base property, which is largely unused land, perfect for hunting and such for a coyote. Just sort of weird though to see.

Had no idea that flying fish were so colorful and could have big barbels. Thought they were just varying shades of silver/gray and were streamline…
