I went hiking and saw quail, rabbits, and a nice big red diamond back rattlesnake. He was obliging enough to hang around for five minutes, moving about trying to get the squirels who were harrassing him. Not a rattle from him though I was only about four feet away. Nice looking rattle though. I have pictures that I might later post, it was a very pretty snake, though not one you want to get bitten by.
