So, the big announcement....
Since originally starting the AEW threads, I've wanted a main prize to fight for that ties into these threads. The Search for the Alpha tournament was supposed to lead to a CPWF Elite Championship...but an audible had to be called on that. There was going to be a tournament earlier this year for the heck of it, but it never got created. In hindsight, it probably wouldn't have worked out. With that in mind, there is something that will take place in 2022.
Introducing the 2022 CPWF Elite Cup.
Over 4 PPVs, those who make predictions in the AEW threads will be qualified to win the 2022 CPWF Elite Cup. The main way to track how someone is doing will be through correct predictions. As a way to add another layer to the mix, CPWF match wins will also be used as a way to break up ties (in some cases). However, when coming up with this, I realized that due to the amount of PPVs, it's entirely possible to have 2 people match in correct predictions and match wins. In the event something like that would likely occur, the 4th PPV of the year will be under traditional championship rules (Using numbers 1-10, etc.) It wouldn't necessarily mean the winner of the 4th PPV match competing using those rules would win it all, but it would provide an additional layer to use to determine a winner.
Quick rundown of other things:
- The rankings system that exists now will still be updated. That's mainly for the (fingers crossed) next tournament to find the other contender for the CPWF Elite Championship.
- If these threads suddenly get popular enough to be able to create a new tournament, the 2022 Elite Cup will still go on into the end of that year.
- If things work out, the CPWF Elite Cup will be a yearly thing. Each year with their own champion.
- Something like this will be implemented if the threads get too low to have a championship or (in a highly unlikely scenario) all of the logical championships planned for each division get implemented and there's a ton of room to work this into the other stuff.
- This also means that there won't likely be a tag match any time soon in the Elite division.
Let me know if anything sounds like it could be thought through a little better.
