Well, this is science-ish, since the building in question was used in several episodes of Mythbusters, and has been featured on many other TV shows including "California's Gold", and in movies. It's also personally sad, since I live only a couple of miles away. I shop in it's shadow. And now it is a massive, raging inferno. It is burning down as I type this. It is one of a pair of WWII era blimp hangers, the largest wooden structures on Earth, though I don't know if they still hold the record. Very sad, I used to stand there and watch on a hot summer's day and watch the Turkey Vultures ride the thermals right up the gigantic sides of this one. It was large enough to hold three or four modern blimps fully closed, as demonstrated by Huell Howser on his landmark public TV show. It is large enough for weather to form inside when closed. Owls roost hear the top inside. And it was aesthetically pleasing. I hope no one gets hurt at the least. My grocery store is across the street from it. There's a science magnet high school at its foot.
The local paper says that whatever survives the fire will be razed.
It's been featured or used in StarTrek, JAG, The X-Files, and many more.

As they said in Star Wars, it's worse. Now nobody can go outside without an M95 mask. Seems that wood wasn't all it was made of. The hills are alive....with the smell of asbestos, apparently. Great. All public schools are cancelled, the Veteran's Day stuff is cancelled, pretty much everything.
