Mushrooms shouldn't exist. All they're good for is for making humans into Mushroom People which will end civilization as we know it.

Here's an interesting story. This interests me because I suffer from chronic pain, like millions of Americans, mine being considerably more severe than most, thankfully, (because I don't want anyone else to feel pain and anxiety like I do. People like this lady are rare, but they do exist, and typically are in constant danger as pain is nature's warning signal that you're taking damage to your body. For example, people can lean on hot stoves, burning themselves, and never know it. The happy medium is to be able to dial down or remove entirely the pain of someone currently suffering. Hopefully they can find the genetic component to whatever makes this lady pain, fear, and anxiety free, and turn it into a cheap, safe and effective medicine that helps people with these issues; we'd all benefit.

There's a reason for pain I think though. She might be lucky that she just hasn't died yet.
If there is a way to lessen both pain and anxiety though, that could be useful.

Pain is the signal sent to your body that there's something wrong. Without it, we wouldn't realize when we're bleeding, have a broken bone, or undercooked our meat. It's not exactly pleasant, but it's necessary for survival.
Now, constant pain that comes with certain illnesses or in the process of recovery, THAT is where the application is more fortuitous.

From another article, it also seems the same mutation, which they have identified, also makes her heal very fast, leaving no scars.
