Yes, they won! Happy for 'em. It is about damn time. Probably would have been a different story if the Brewers hadn't been so beat up, though. Even I have to acknowledge that. Wish I could have seen it. Well, next year I'll get the package from MLB.

The Dodgers interestingly are NOT starting their ace, Ryu, for the first game against the Nats. Instead, Walker Buehler. Not what I'd do. I'd go with the strongest Cy Young candidate they had, Ryu, an absolutely amazing pitcher having an amazing year, but Buehler was probably a stat guy choice over Ryu. The Dodgers do that all the time. Yeah the Nats are overmatched in general, but if the Dodgers aren't on top of their game, and they rarely are in the post season, they may find themselves with an early trip to the off season. The Nats closed the season with about a month long streak of great. Cards at the Braves today along with the Nats at Dodgers. I like the Cards, but I like the Braves more; they're one of my top three rooting teams, along with Houston and the Nats. And in the sense that they're a better team overall, I also go for the Braves....but I wouldn't be too surprised should the Cards win. Just a bit put off by the end of the season. I suppose I'll switch over to hockey, as I'm off football for a bit; it's gotten too violent for me to enjoy. I don't like seeing two players carted off the field on stretchers, or contemplating how many of the players will get CTE and lose their minds. Hockey OTOH is a game I know nothing about, never played it at any level, unlike the others, so a bit of a learning curve involved.

So the Dodgers are starting Ferris Buehler tonight, Clayton Kershaw in game 2, and Ryu in DC for game 3....but Ryu is one of those pitchers who does so very much better at home, and HE'S the Cy Young candidate this year, and the hottest pitcher they've got. Doesn't make sense. They should have given Walker the day off...

Rather see the Braves than the Cardinals...but they blew it tonight.

I have never been less confident in a bullpen in my life than I am this year. Damn Cards aged me about 30 years tonight.

True, Acuna jr with that single that should have been a double...but it's hard to criticise a guy who also hit a two run hr and had a good night otherwise. I think it's on Freddie Freeman for not saying "Captain Marvel" and then hitting all the home runs.

My concern was and is for how well Ryu will do on the road, since he's a home pitcher according to the stats.

Atl over Cards, 3-0, knotting the series at one each. It now repairs to the Cards.
