Eh, they'll fix that in post... I mean to be fair, Starfleet is a riff on the NASA meatball insignia… but that is because the 23rd century is an extrapolation of what NASA could become.
But come on. At least they changed the angle of the chevron/wing.
And didn't pervert the mission of NASA…

So I gave it a try and I have to say...it's pretty good. Do not agree with the portrayal of Starfleet (that is really in pretty direct contradiction to what Roddenberry envisioned) but other than that it is pretty entertaining. Stewart is, as always, wonderful.

Stewart is, as always, wonderful. I haven't had the time to watch it yet. I have to admit though, after reading some things, and watching a condensed reaction video, it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. There is still enough that irritates me though (eg. the same issue about Starfleet/Federation that you have; some of the issues regarding the amount of Romulans and their situation, etc)

But, like I felt about Man Of Steel, a lot of that is the circumstances surrounding the main character rather than the main character being sullied himself.

Picard mentions Dunkirk. Is he referring to it from the British viewpoint or the French viewpoint?
