I've been following a lot of the CA crazy stuff, since I'm blessed and cursed to live here. Beautiful state, beyond any denying, but, damn, the politics here are insane, and have ruined the state. Hell, I'd move at this point if I could. Basically everything they passed last time out is designed to ruin the state in various ways, and be completely unConstitutional at the same time. Sadly, we have hundreds of thousands, (well, about half a million), every year moving out because of the cost of living. Highest tax rates in the US by far, property values way out of reach for all but the very rich, most of the nations' homeless and nutcases, and a hell of a lot of other problems that were entirely made by politics, (in this state, that means the Democrats, who've ruled the state with an iron fist for decades). Sad.

Sad. There's always San Bernardino. That's pretty cheap by CA standards.

Yeah, like I'm going to say that; I have my own safe word.

And in an update on that story about the 7 year old boy who was being turned into his mom's Instragram bait girl...good news, a judge reviewed that jury's decision, and overturned it, awarding joint custody again to the father.
Honestly, I would have taken the kid, and his twin brother, from the mom, and ordered that doctor's medical license taken, and probably also ordered an investigation to see if the doctor can be charged criminally. I might again point out that giving puberty blockers to kids for no good medical reason is very dangerous. Ditto the wrong hormones and the chemical castration. The fact that it is apparently legal is...surreal, like watching Terry Gilliam's Baron Munchausen while on LSD. The details of this thing are even sicker than that, worth reading that link again.
