The European Free Alliance is an organization that helps to fund and coordinate groups in Europe seeking to have a region gain independence from whichever country that area is currently a part of this map shows the 45 places that have independence movements that have reached an organizational point where the EFA recognizes them an offers them membership. It's an interesting map that gives some idea about how the map of Europe might change in the future.

Interesting. Kind of puts paid to the notion of a happy, unified EU. Though that notion already died a hard death.

My father's side came from Bavaria, so I followed the Bayern movement back when it tried a couple years ago.
I never heard of the Cornwall movement - worth looking into.
I'd think (with what little I know) that Spain would be the first fall apart.

I think Spain is the one everybody expects. Though...maybe they shouldn't expect anything...Spanish.

Oh, yeah, and I'd be not too surprised if Scotland decides at some point it wants away from the UK; especially with Brexit looming.

These countries can strike out on their own but then they'll realize the cost of establishing their own country. They will need their own currency, military, and government.

These countries can strike out on their own but then they'll realize the cost of establishing their own country. They will need their own currency, military, and government. That's one of the main reason why a lot of them don't want full independence. A lot of them seem to be only going for a degree of autonomy within the country they're a part of.
