So goes the latest casting news/rumors, which has him in talks for replacing Will Smith for Suicide Squad 2. I don't know about that. Elba is IMO a superior actor, and would be great if the role was in isolation. However, one movie before, the character was Will Smith. And with Robbie apparently set to reprise her role in the sequel, it will be maybe hard to ignore the no Smith in the room. That said, I expect after about five minutes of Idis Elbaing the hell out of Deadshot, everyone will forget Smith played the role the movie before. That's IF the news, which I heard on my local morning news, is true...AND if they actually land him.
Joel Kinnaman is also not returning.

It's not a rumor anymore. Variety & the Hollywood Reporter are stating that Idris IS Deadshot!

But...with the Thor thing, he indicated he didn't like doing that sort of role. I wonder what changed? |
