Hopefully the title of this thread isn't too confusing.
Essentially, I have always had a pretty definitive viewpoint on which identity of Superman is the "real" identity. To me, Superman was always raised as Clark Kent. He may have been born as Kal-El on Krypton and he may save the world as Superman but he was raised on a farm in Smallville, Kansas. At the end of the day, when he goes home and relaxes with Lois, he is Clark Kent. Superman and Kal-El are important parts of who Clark Kent is but they are not who he really is.
So to that end, this morning I was thinking about Clark Kent's fathers. Clark Kent and Jor-El. They have both played important, albeit vastly different roles in Clark's life. However, who would you consider to be Clark's "real" father. Not biologically speaking mind you, that is definitely obvious. I am talking about who you consider to be Clark's real father figure. The man who is the most responsible for making Clark into the man that he is today. If you agree with me, then you probably consider Jonathan Kent to be the more fatherly figure to Clark but I do understand that there are people who disagree with me and may have a different take on the entire relationship.
So...what do you think?

Jonathan Kent raised him and he sees himself as Clark Kent more than he sees himself as Kal-El.

Jonathan Kent raised him and he sees himself as Clark Kent more than he sees himself as Kal-El. Personally, I definitely agree with you. Unfortunately, there are people out there that tend to subscribe to the whole "Kill Bill" take on Clark's identity and I suppose that they may view Jor-El as the more definitive father figure. Hell, Man of Steel certainly tried to make a case for that as well, what with the whole interactive Jor-El A.I. and all.

Superman, to me, is defined by one single panel out of the millions he's appeared in. Pa Kent is and always will be his father.
