Ultraman Taiga Film Opens on August 7 After COVID-19 Delay

The official Twitter account for the Ultraman franchise began streaming a new trailer for the Gekijōban Ultraman Taiga: New Gene Climax film on Wednesday. The trailer reveals that the film will now open on August 7. The trailer also asks moviegoers to make three promises for everyone's safety: go to bed early the night before to be well rested, wear a mask, and wash their hands.

Live-Action, Anime Producer Susumu Yoshikawa Passes Away

Retired producer Susumu Yoshikawa passed away due to respiratory failure on Friday at 6:00 a.m. in his home in Kamakura, Kanagawa. He was 84.

Yoshikawa's family will hold a private funeral. He is survived by his wife Yoshiko.

Yoshikawa debuted as a producer for the Nippon Kenkyakuden live-action television series in 1968. His first hero work was the Android Kikaider tokusatsu (live-action special effects) series in 1972. He is known as one of the founding fathers of the Super Sentai and Metal Hero franchises. Yoshikawa served as executive producer for the Armored Fleet Dairugger XV anime series and is credited with planning for Video Senshi Lezarion

Kamen Rider Zero-One Short Anime: Everyone’s Daily Life will be an anime mini-series featuring characters from Kamen Rider Zero-One. This mini-series will be exclusive to Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club (TTFC) members. At this time, no information about the content of the mini-series has been released.

Fans who wanted more Zero-One content during the production halt caused by the global coronavirus pandemic will be able to look forward to this new animated content.

Kamen Rider Zero-One Short Anime: Everyone’s Daily Life will be released for TTFC members starting July 23rd.

The Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club announced on Sunday that the live-action television series Kamen Rider Zero-One is inspiring a spinoff net short anime, Kamen Rider Zero-One Short Anime Everyone's Daily Life. The club's subscribers can watch the first episode starting on July 23 at 12:00 p.m.

Kind of a weird choice of riders (W, OOO, Zero One), but W is one of my favorites so okay. Too bad it will never come here for Switch.

New Game KAMEN RIDER: memory of heroez Promises Upgraded Tokusatsu Action

Bandai has just announced KAMEN RIDER: memory of heroez, the first Kamen Rider game of the Reiwa era. The new game doesn't take its title lightly, either: advertised as a "Hero Chain Action" game, it promises to upgrade your gaming experience, making your gameplay feel more like real tokusatsu action than ever.

The title lets you control Kamen Riders Double, OOO, and incumbent rider Zero-One, all of whom will join you throughout the game's storyline. The new gameplay will let you chain together multiple actions—specifically, changing between forms and then taking an action with that form—for more dynamic, true-to-television fighting. Each Rider's trademark gadgets will also be available to assist you through the game's brand-new storyline, which weaves together the characters' stories.

Toei Unvels Kamen Rider Saber Series for September Premiere

Toei confirmed on Wednesday that the next installment of its Kamen Rider tokusatsu franchise is titled Kamen Rider Saber. The title is a portmanteau of the English word "saber," and two Japanese characters individually pronounced "sei" and "ha," which together means "sacred blade." The series will premiere on TV Asahi on September 6.

The series' protagonist will be Tōma Kamiyama, a novelist who focuses his efforts through both the pen and sword, and seeks to connect people's feelings through a story that will save the world. Shūichirō Naitō plays Tōma Kamiyama (Kamen Rider Saber). Takaya Yamaguchi plays Rintarō Shindō (Kamen Rider Blades), and Ryō Aoki plays Kento Fukamiya (Kamen Rider Espada), and Keishi Togashi plays Ren Akamichi (Kamen Rider Kenzan). All three are part of the Sword of Logos organization sworn to protect the balance of the world.

Other cast members include Asuka Kawazu as Tōma's editor Mei Sudō. Hiroaki Oka plays swordsmith and mechanic Tetsuo Daishinji. Rina Chinen plays Sophia, the guardian of books for Sword of Logos . Kairu Takano, Kōji Saikawa, and Robin Furuya play the characters Rejieru, Zuos, and Storius, part of a mysterious organization seeking to alter the world's narrative completely with the dark "Alter Book."
