Live-Action Rurouni Kenshin 'Final Chapter' Films' Teaser Reveals April, June 2021 Openings

The official website for the 'final chapter' films in the live-action film series based on Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin manga posted a teaser trailer for both films on Friday. The trailer reveals that Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Final, the first of the two films, will open in Japan on April 23 next year, while Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Beginning, the second film, will open on June 4.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Manga Creator Negi Haruba Set to Launch New Series in February

After nearly a year since The Quintessential Quintuplets came to an end in Weekly Shonen Magazine, bringing a conclusion to the waifu wars the series brought upon us, Negi Haruba lives to fight again! This time he has a squadron of Sentai soldiers at his pen and call in a new manga series titled Sentai Daishikkaku (Great Disqualification Sentai).

Haruba tweeted out a teaser image of the group along with the announcement that the series starts in Issue 10 of Weekly Shonen Magazine, which goes on sale in Japan on February 3.

Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Announced

The 45th Super Sentai series titled Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger will premiere on March 7, 2021. The roster for this series includes one human and four robot heroes. A fresh take on the usual team.

Synopsis

In this story, our heroes will use full-force full-throttle (the catchphrase of the series: 全力全開) to stop the enemies who are trying to destroy the parallel universes. One hero known as Zenkaiser, with a heart of justice, will stand up to a preposterous giant mass of evil who has managed to break into their home world. Fighting alongside him are four robotic lifeforms.

The visuals of the five heroes are themed on past Super Sentai heroes. Zenkaiser’s design is based on Akaranger from Himitsu Sentai Gorenger; Zenkaijyuran is based on the Daizyujin from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger; Zenkaigaon is based on Gao King from Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger; Zenkaimazin is based on Magi King from Mahou Sentai Magiranger; And lastly, Zenkaiburun is based on Daibouken from GoGo Sentai Boukenger.

One of the highlights of the series is seeing the four robotic life-size lifeforms squaring off against life-sized enemies – a new novel take on the usual mecha fights in Super Sentai history. They will also have the ability to engage in giant battles as they are.

The device in this series is called the Gear Tringer. An item that can be used to transform, used in battle, or in giant battles. The item can combine with the Zenkai Gear that will combine their powers.

Kamen Rider Franchise Gets Large Project to Commemorate 50th Anniversary

Director Shinichirо̄ Shirakura announced during Toei's 2021 lineup presentation in Tokyo on Tuesday that the tentatively titled Kamen Rider film was "still in a blank state" and that Toei would launch a large-scale project to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kamen Rider series. The film will open in winter 2021. Shirakura stated that it will be a work that is "worthy" of the 50th anniversary and not necessarily a spinoff of the currently airing Kamen Rider Saber television series.

1st Garo Live-Action Show Gets Worldwide Release on YouTube with English Subtitles

The official blog for the Garo Project tokusatsu show revealed on Friday that the franchise's official YouTube channel started streaming the original Garo show with subtitles in English, Thai, and Chinese on October 8. The franchise also launched websites in English, Chinese, and Thai to commemorate the franchise's 15 year anniversary. The first two episodes of the remastered first series are available now.

The first 25-episode series premiered on October 7, 2005 and has spawned multiple live-action films and television series, as well as anime series and anime films.

The website describes the show:

The storyline revolves around the concept of a dark energy called Inga that's been created since the beginning of time by mankind's malice. Inga seeps into the Makai World, which is inhabited by parasitic and predatory demons called Horrors. Ever hungry for more Inga, they cross over into the human world to possess and devour people to satiate their hunger. This leads the humans to create the Makai Order to fight them. Consisting of priests and knights, they are the shadows that protect humanity from the Horrors.
