Gamera -Rebirth- Anime Streams Behind-the-Scenes Video

Kadokawa started streaming a behind-the-scenes video for the Gamera -Rebirth- anime on Thursday. The video titled "Making of Gamera -Rebirth-" shows the production process of the anime from meetings to materials/design conceptualization and production.

The anime's website also launched the Monster Encyclopedia Gamera page, which features the concept art, illustrations, and introductions of the monsters.

The anime will debut worldwide on Netflix on September 7. The series will have six episodes, focusing on the titular Gamera fighting five kaiju (giant monsters).

Odekake Kozame Author Illustrates Cute Monsters for GAMERA -Rebirth- Anime

Penguinbox, the illustrator of the adorable web manga Odekake Kozame (“A Little Shark Goes Out”), has offered up their talents for some cute but monstrous illustrations for the upcoming Netflix anime, GAMERA -Rebirth-. The illustration (above) features Gamera as well as his rivals Guiron, Gyaos, Jiger, Zigra, and Viras.

Lupin the Third Live-Action Film Daisuke Jigen Releases Full Trailer

Amazon Prime Video's Japanese official YouTube channel released a full trailer for the upcoming original live-action film featuring Daisuke Jigen, Lupin's partner in the Lupin the Third franchise. The clip showcases gun action scenes with Tetsuji Tamayama as Jigen and features Jigen's current anime voice cast, Akio Otsuka.

Amazon Japan will stream the film worldwide on Amazon Prime beginning October 13, 2023. The film is a collaboration project between Amazon Studios and TMS Entertainment, the anime production company that has produced the Lupin the Third anime franchise since 1971.

The film's story begins when Jigen feels his beloved Combat Magnum (S&W M19) is not working well and visits Japan for the first time in several years in search of the "world's best gunsmith" who runs a watch shop.

Kadokawa Releases Gamera -Rebirth- Prequel Manga, Vertical-Scroll Manga Adaptation in English

Kadokawa announced on Thursday the prequel comic of Gamera -Rebirth-, Gamera -Rebirth- code thyrsos, and the spin-off comic, TATESC Gamera -Rebirth-, are coming to Book Walker Global and other e-book stores in English.

The story of Gamera -Rebirth- code thyrsos takes place 100,000 years before the events of the anime, and tells the story of how a kaiju is born. Readers will learn about the boy who grows up to become the scientist responsible for throwing the world into chaos. TATESC Gamera -Rebirth- is a full-color vertical-scroll comic version of the anime.

The first episode of Gamera -Rebirth- code thyrsos is available September 8 and the first episode of TATESC Gamera -Rebirth- will be available September 29. Cambria Bakuhatsu Taro is drawing Gamera -Rebirth- code thyrsos and Renga Kizima is drawing TATESC Gamera -Rebirth-.

GARO: Hagane wo Tsugumono Live-Action Tokusatsu Series Hits Japanese TV in January

After a hiatus of four years, the GARO live-action science fiction / horror tokusatsu TV series is returning to Japanese airwaves with a new entry entitled GARO: Hagane wo Tsugumono (“GARO: Inheritor of Steel”). The new series will broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS Nippon TV beginning in January 2024.

Before Gotchard started, it was rumored that Decade was going to be in it. They revealed the cast so that rumor appeared to have been incorrect… but now… Kamen Rider Legend? It says "Youtube and more". Will they not region lock this Gotchard side story? Wouldn't hold my breath…
