Toei announced on Friday that the revival of its Toei Manga Matsuri omnibus film series will have another installment on April 24. Next year's omnibus will include a second film for the Butt Detective (Oshiri Tantei) anime, and will also include films for Kamen Rider Den-O, Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendō, and Recycle Zoo.
The staff for Studio Khara's new Shin Ultraman (New Ultraman) film revealed a visual for the film at the "Tsuburaya Convention 2019" event on Saturday. In the below image, the titular Ultraman is not wearing a color timer.
The official website for the 'final chapter' of the live-action film series based on Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin manga revealed the titles and summer 2020 release dates for the two films on Friday. Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Final will open in Japan on July 3, and Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Beginning will open on August 7. The website also revealed a teaser visual for the films.
Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Final will center on the story from the manga's "Jinchū" arc, which features Kenshin's conflict with the mysterious weapons dealer Enishi. Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Beginning will tell the story of how Kenshin got his cross-shaped scar.
Khara's official Twitter has posted a first design sketch of Ultraman to be featured in the forthcoming all-new live-action film Shin Ultraman. It was drawn by the film's planner/screenplay writer Hideaki Anno on October 3, 2018.
Bin Furuya, the original suit actor in the first Ultraman TV series (1966-1967), was body-scanned for the sketch, then the hero's iconic patterns and body lines were added onto it. The data from Furuya's feet (including his fingers) was directly used for the sketch. The new Ultraman is seemingly very different from the one appeared in the mysterious pilot PV "ULTRAMAN_n/a" posted in July 2015.
