I have always been interested in the dynamic between these two characters. Now, a lot of the time writers seem hell-bound to have them throwing hands with one another. One of the few times I thought that approach was truly well done was in Waid's Kingdom Come. Not a hug fan of Mark Waid, but his take on these two in Kingdom Come was wonderful. The other one was in the Justice League cartoon. What I enjoy more, though, is when someone comes along and explores these characters and how they relate to one another, given that so many people look at them as simply the same basic character in a different costume. Enter Joe Kelly, and this little gem: This is such a wonderful one and done comic. It highlights so much of what makes both characters work. In spite of what the cover would have you believe, at no point in the story do these characters slug it out. Kelly manages to show how human Clark really is, and captures some of the weirdness of Marvel's world without making fun of it. If you have not read it, I highly recommend it. Wish they made more books like this one. This is what I hoped the new Marvel Team-Up was going to be like, but alas, it comes nowhere close. Anyway, what are everyone's thoughts about these two characters?

Funny that in the Underworld Unleashed event, everyone thought it was Superman Neron wanted to corrupt. But it was really Captain Marvel he was after, because his soul was so pure.

Inside of Kelly's story Superman himself acknowledges that a couple of times, at one point thinking the Marvels are "responsible to a fault. My Smallville days make me look like a drunken sailor by comparison."

One of the other places Marvel seems to get his due with regard to the Man of Steel is in Justice. I guess I just like stories where the writers remember Captain Marvel has the wisdom of Solomon.
