Did the director's cut make this movie any better, or is it still shit? Well...this movie was never shit, so I guess I would say it made improvements to a classic. You are entirely right. My apologies. It is in fact shit that has been liquified, set on fire, stomped on, and then exploded along with the sewer lines nearby. It wasn't QUITE Batman and Robin level bad, but it was still pretty bad. It has been banned by the Geneva Convention as torture. It somehow managed the trick of being boring and overly long and oh so SSSSLLLLOOOOWWWW. Damn, it's like Captain Child Molestor there was moving through molasses trying to get to bald Indian model chick who is one of the worst actors in history. And why does Bones keep showing up on the bridge for no reason, and then leaving for no reason? Why does that also happen in WOK with the second worst actor in ST history, the dude who played Kirk's kid? Also, did they HAVE to go up VGER's butt? And did they have to take about one hour of screen time cruising alongside their terrible model of VGER? That's an hour of my life I will never get back.

That's a very nice tie you've got! Actually, I was being quite serious. Well, you can't be, or you can't have read my posts. I'm nice all the time. Hell, look at what I said about Eddie Murphy and his movie. But most people do view ST the motion picture as...er...pretty bad. As for SW, the best of those movies IMO was SW itself, followed by Empire. But that's me.

Funny, despite that being a horror classic, I've somehow managed to never see it. Along with a bunch of other movies. Going to have to see if Netflix or Amazon have it and give it a watch. Speaking of which, while it's a bit late, what are you guy's picks for best and scariest horror movies? I like the scary ones, but haven't seen that many horror movies for some reason, and i don't really know which ones to watch...

Personally, I love The Shining. Also enjoy Night of the Living Dead, Hell House LLC, The House That Dripped Blood, and The Haunting (1963). There are a ton more out there. Hammer horror films, for example, are quite a bit of fun, just in general.

^Probably the best movie ever made. Nothing comes close. It never gets old. I am amazed at how it continues to hold up.

^Probably the best movie ever made. Nothing comes close. For me it was Star Wars, (1977). I just thought it was a once in a lifetime perfect storm of getting the best experts in the world at their various disciplines, doing their best work. Though I also liked a German language movie called "The Lives of Others", about a musician who is spied on by a Stasi spy in East Berlin IIRC in the 80s. It was a while ago, so I don't quite recall, but it was a very good drama about the era. The protagonist, the Stasi agent, increasingly comes to question the morality of spying on ordinary people. It was just so brilliantly written and acted; that was why I thought it was so good. Also, Clooney's "Good Night and Good Luck", with David Strathairn as Edward R Murrow. Another brilliantly acted and written movie. Sorry, no posters available for "The Lives of Others".
