I just want Batman to punch a novelty themed villain! Is that too much to ask? Like, I dunno, the great-great-great grandaughter of Dick Turpin shows up in Gotham and tries to steal all the horses ahead of the Gotham Derby. Batman tracks her down to the Troy Gardens theme park in the end.

Kevin Nowlan? I'm on board to try any book he's on (even if it's inking Hitch).

And this is different from any of the hundreds of times Alfred's voiced concern for Batman's life...how? Does he know something about the killings he decides not to share for 8 to 10 issues?

I'll just second belletainsummer and sporkbot here. I don't need Batman light and fluffy, but holy sweet goddam can the writers please stop trying to outgrim each other?
And why doesn't a writer just put Alfred in a suit and have him swing along beside Batman while wringing his hands?
