It seemed fitting for the end of one era. It seems fitting for the beginning of another.

Cyclops is so right that even in admitting that he may have been wrong, he's still right. In all honestly, the fallout from Schism, leading into Avengers vs. X-Men and beyond was an absolute disaster. I know that I have said this before but it bears repeating, editorial should have gotten their shit together and have writers on the same page before any of this began. You either had people on Jason Aaron's side that were writing Scott as an absolute monster or you had people on Ben...Be...Bend... (ugh, hold on a second, it's difficult for me to even write) ...Bendis' side that were trying to present a different side of things. To his credit, Bendis wrote Scott's reaction to Avengers vs. X-Men perfectly. He bore the responsibility for what happened as a result of his possession by the Phoenix, not because he was physically or mentally in control of his actions but because he couldn't stop them. Besides, we all know that Hank is really the worst. Even Uatu knew this to be true! In any case, regardless of what I think of Wolverine, I am excited about the prospect of Scott and Logan working together again to put the X-Men back together again.

He didn't say he may have been wrong. He said he was wrong. And he was. Scott used to be one of the best characters in the MCU. AvX turned him into an absolute douche. Personally, I hope he can be redeemed, but that is going to take an awful lot of work.

I guess that I just don't see how Avengers vs. X-Men turned him into an absolute douche but it didn't also turn some of the other primary characters into the same. Sure, it could be said that Scott was narrow minded about his goals with Hope and the Phoenix but so were Logan and the Avengers. You can't say that Scott was incapable of being objective without applying the same reasoning to Logan, which is a primary point of contention that I have with the entire affair. Cap should have went to Utopia and talked to Scott without an invisible Helicarrier filled with Avengers in tow.

Matthew Rosenberg makes me want to dry hump my comics.
