Oh, I'm sure this'll be a fun year-long experiment they'll blame anyone but themselves for when it tanks.
I get they need boost sales, but I can't help but feel like they're making decisions based on WHAT THEY THINK will attract people that don't read comics, and have no interest in starting. That may not be an IMPOSSIBLE task, necessarily, but I don't think Danny Dipwad here is the one to accomplish it.

THAT'S what it means?!? My actual first thought was "Damn, now DC's getting into the wireless business too!" Also, "It'll be the most grimdark wireless ever!" And, "Subscribers will likely have their arms ripped off by a Hulked up Didio!"
Okay, maybe not that last, but you can see how I'd think it. I would note they've already begun that process years ago. Blue Beetle, replaced with a younger, more PC character. The Atom, replaced for a while with a younger character. And yes, Power Girl, replaced with a PC Mary Sue, and banished to comic book limbo. Also, I find that having roughly ten thousand Bat characters is just a bit too much. I liked the days when it was Batman, Robin, (Tim), Oracle, Hunts, Dick, Alfred, Gordon. That's a pretty large cast already.

I have less than zero faith in Didio, Lee, and the rest to do this with any sort of skill or craft, and honestly have no interest in going through another “start-over” as a reader. Call me when it’s over and they bring the icons back.

"Tynion [has] done good things."
Like what? Donate his time at a food shelter? Drop a fiver into a street performers tip jar? Let someone go ahead of him while on the road, even if he had the right of way?
Nice of him, but I'm not sure what that has to do with comics...

Call me when it’s over and they bring the icons back. They are in an endless cycle of screwing up the DCU, then trying to fix it with more of their wonderful ideas for grimdark and crappy, then repeat the whole thing again. Nothing will change with these people in charge, and also many of the idiots doing the actual writing. They have to go. First off, comics generally are not written for little kids anymore, so why the abysmally stupid names that a five year old would be mortified by, like "Perpetua", or the older, but still stupid classic "Imperiex", (bonus points for the most ridiculous and non-threatening design in history). And stop with the "Biggest threat the DCU ever faced is one-upped by his mom, who is even MORE powerful and evil" thing. It's stupid, lazy, and you guys keep doing it. In the future, try doing something new. Yes, I know it's work, but you ARE getting paid. For the most part, DC really does seem completely clueless.

He’s doing a lot of the heavy lifting on Justice League right now, which is really good. JL Dark is legit GREAT. His Detective run was great (and yes, I know you disagree, but you’re wrong...it’s ok, happens to the best of us once in a while).

Cause whoever did that needs to be exiled to Antarctica. Or Bakersfield; that might be worse.

JL feels like his ideas, with he and Tynion splitting the actual scripting.

I've heard some people make the same claim...but I've also heard others say the opposite. Maybe if he'd hadn't done such an atrocious job BEFORE Detective, where he was wrong A LOT MORE than once in a while, or at least made actual fixes with Rebirth, I might've given him a shot. But he did an atrocious job, and none of what I saw of his run seemed to improve, so...

That alone deserves heavy praise.

That alone deserves heavy praise. I have my doubts about that...mostly because character progression was far from his strong suit in the Eternal books. But I'll lament that it's possible (in the same way it's possible I'll be abducted by aliens tomorrow, or win the lottery in two weeks)...just because he royally sucked with certain other characters, doesn't mean he sucks with EVERY character. But, dude made Cassie Cain (Cassie Cain!) a lesser character in her own life and origin for the sake of a legitimately unnecessary and overhyped character that he never knew what to do with, other than make her "the best ever, forever". Dude took all that development, storytelling, and honest to God beauty from her initial incarnation and threw it in the trash for what amounted to bullhorning "look how deep I am!" And seems to think that ignoring the problem somehow solves it. That alone deserves his (and his retcons') removal. Though, in fairness...he made a bunch of other characters lesser for that character, too, for nearly 80 issues.

They'll focus on this generation for awhile until someone decides to reboot DC yet again and either wipe out characters or completely rewrite them so they won't be recognizable anymore.

Sitting in the Limbo waiting room Connor Hawke is waiting for his agent to return his calls.
