I knew I shouldn't, but I had some time to kill so I read the recent Leviathan mini. Here's a summary...
Bad things happened at the various spy groups in the DCU. The "greatest" detectives gather to figure out why. These "greatest" detective repeatedly fall for decoys left by the mastermind. By mid mini, it's obvious the Manhunters have something to do with - so Bendis mentions all of them (notably but one, thusly he reveals who Leviathan is issues before he actually does). Shaw escapes to set up the next 'event'.
A big "What the hell?" to his "greatest" detectives. Where the fuck is Bobo!? Jason Bard (you know, the detective that even Batman hires)? Sugar & Spike? Plastic Man over Ralph (who does show up far later than he should have)!

As for the Bendis-boot of the Legion?
After the first issue, it's a big "meh".

I didn't mind the mini as a whole, particularly the fact that you could guess the culprit, because that at least was playing fair with the reader. Unlike, say for instance, Jean Loring, in the conservatory, with the flamethrower just in case. But the one one place I do vehemently agree with you is the "greatest detectives" lineup. Lois? Come the fuck on, she couldn't figure out Clark was Supes while he was standing right in front of her. And I'm not entirely convinced Bendo knows the difference between Ralph and Plas.

I haven't read Bendis in a really long time, so Kudos to all of you who keep giving him a chance. It sounds like he is cranking all the things wrong with his writing at Marvel up to 11 for DC.
On recommendation, I checked out the trade for his new run on Young Justice. I was told it was out of continuity, so there was not much to worry about there. After reading it, there were two main things that bothered me about it (note I'm not saying these were the ONLY things): First, the man puts in flashbacks where there shouldn't be flashbacks that just exist to ruin the flow of the comic. Second, he had no idea how to write Impulse. Yes, Impulse is impulsive and naive, but he's not stupid.
Granted, he did have one scene where he got Impulse right where the group is talking about how impossible it's going to be to get the magical MacGuffin, and Impulse just runs off an grabs it while the rest are still talking.
