Hololive Launches New Magical Girl-Themed Mixed-Media Project Magical Girl holoWitches

Magical Girl holoWitches!, a new magical girl-themed mixed-media project with VTubers who belong to the Japanese virtual YouTuber agency hololive, was announced on May 14. The project's official Twitter account has also opened, streaming a teaser trailer that features the six VTubers who will participate in the project

The YouTube video's description describes Magical Girl holoWitches! as "a new type of mixed-media mix project that develops a world view centered on magical girls through anime, manga, streaming, and other content, with the participation of VTubers belonging to hololive."

Production on a sequel to the 2019-2020 television anime of Yūji Terajima's Ace of Diamond Act II (Daiya no A Act II) manga has been green-lit.

Kinema Citrus Announces 'Goodbye, Lara,' Ninja Skooler Anime

Kinema Citrus announced at its panel during this year's Anime Central event on Saturday that it is producing two new anime titled Goodbye, Lara (Sayonara Lara) and Ninja Skooler.

Takushi Koide is directing the Goodbye, Lara anime with character designs by Shiori Tani. The anime is based on a concept by Kinema Citrus, and it tells a tale similar to Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. The story follows a mermaid who makes a forbidden wish to be loved by a human. Following her death, she is reborn 200 years later into modern-day Japan in Lake Biwa, where she learns to adjust in a human world. The setting of Lake Biwa is in Shiga prefecture of Japan, which is also where Koide's hometown is located.

Shunsuke Takarai is directing the Ninja Skooler with character designs by Hami. The anime is based on a concept by Kinema Citrus. The light-hearted anime follows students at a ninja school.

Failure Frame Anime Reveals More Cast, Ending Song Artists, July 4 Debut

The staff for the anime of Kaoru Shinozaki's Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells (Hazure Waku no "Jōtai Ijō Skill" de Saikyō ni Natta Ore ga Subete wo Jūrin Suru made) light novel series revealed on Sunday the anime's ending theme song's title and artist, additional cast members, and July 4 premiere.

Seven Seas licensed both the light novel series and its manga adaptation, and it describes the story:

Touka Mimori and his classmates are abruptly catapulted into a fantasy world, summoned by the resident goddess to serve as heroes. The good news? Most of the students display amazing skills upon arrival! The bad? Mimori is the worst of the lot, bottoming out at a measly E-rank. Incensed, the goddess tosses him into a dungeon to die–but it turns out that Mimori's skills aren't so much worthless as they are abnormal. Abnormally powerful, perhaps!

2-Part Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction Anime Film Project Gets TV Version Premiering on May 23

Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will begin screening a new television series version of the two-part anime film adaptation of Inio Asano's Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction worldwide on Thursday at 11:00 p.m. EDT (which is Friday in Japan). Crunchyroll will stream the 18 episodes weekly. Episodes will feature new footage not in the film versions. The company streamed an English-subtitled trailer

The manga revolves around the strange everyday life of the very ordinary high school girl Kadode Koyama, her friend Ouran Nakagawa, and others in a world where a giant mothership has appeared over Tokyo.

Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji Anime Gets Prequel Anime in Japanese Theaters on August 16

The official website for Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji, the anime adaptation of the Touken Ranbu Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji stage play, revealed on Tuesday that a prequel anime titled Touken Ranbu Dо̄den -Chikashi Samuraira Umonora- will screen in theaters in Japan for three weeks only, starting on August 16. The prequel will have the same cast and staff as the Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji anime. The original story will focus on Heshikiri Hasebe.

The Touken Ranbu "sword personification training game" takes famous swords from Japanese history and interprets them as bishōnen. Nitroplus designed the characters and scenario.

Shun Umezawa's Darwin Incident Manga Gets TV Anime Adaptation

TOHO animation announced on Wednesday that Shun Umezawa's The Darwin Incident (Darwin Jihen manga will get a television anime adaptation. A new official Twitter account opened and unveiled a teaser visual

Kodansha USA Publishing licensed the manga, and will publish the manga's sixth volume in English on July 9. The company describes the story:

Created in a biological science lab, Charlie is a half human, half chimpanzee hybrid known as "Humanzee."

Raised by his adoptive human parents, Charlie is now 15 and starting high school. There he meets Lucy, a clever loner who becomes his first-ever friend.

But his "normal" life is shattered when the animal rights extremists who freed his mother from the lab fifteen years ago reemerge as terrorists bent on kidnapping Charlie at all costs.

Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 Anime Project Reveals Main Visual, Trailer for 1st Film

Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed the main visual and started streaming the main trailer for the first film "Kuro no Shinryaku" (Dark Invasion) of Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199), the next project in the Space Battleship Yamato remakes, on Friday.

The anime will premiere as seven films, beginning with the first film "Kuro no Shinryaku" (Dark Invasion) on July 19.

'Bye Bye, Earth' Anime Reveals More Cast, July 12 Debut in New Video

The official website for the television anime of Tow Ubukata's Bye Bye, Earth novel revealed more cast, a second teaser promotional video, and a July 12 debut on WOWOW on Thursday.

The novels' story is set on an Earth where all people take the form of animals. Bell is the only girl in the world without the characteristics of animals. She sets out to discover if there are other beings like her. Bell wields a sword and becomes involved with the struggles between the cities and outside world.

AnimeFesta's Yoasobi Gurashi! Anime Premieres Online on July 7

Suiseisha revealed on Wednesday that the anime adaptation of Suika's Yoasobi Gurashi! (Living in a F*** Room) manga by AnimeFesta (formerly Anime Zone and ComicFesta Anime) will premiere on July 7 on WWWave Corporation's Coolmic website. The anime's website also opened on Wednesday and revealed the key visual, staff, and main cast.

Egumi Legacy Anime Reveals Main Cast, More Staff, July Debut

Happinet announced on Friday that the anime based on TAKALAKA and voice actor Takuya Eguchi's Egumi Legacy card game will debut in July. Happinet also revealed the show's cast and additional staff.

In the anime, there exists a floating island in the ocean called Egu Island. On the island, the only entertainment is a songstress named "End of the World." The inhabitants of the island spend their days entranced by her singing. But one day their lives are upended by the disappearance of End of the World. Afterward, the island overflows with anger, doubt, and anxiety. A great war breaks out over End of the World and the Egumi Legacy.

Dungeon People Anime Reveals July 5 Debut in Commercial

The official website for the television anime of Sui Hutami's Dungeon People (Dungeon no Naka no Hito) manga revealed in a commercial on Friday that the anime will debut on July 5 on the Animeism programming block of MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS. The show will also air on AT-X starting on July 8.

Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

Clay was trained by her father to be an expert member of the thieves' guild. Since her father disappeared three years ago, she's been using her skills to search for him in a dungeon filled with goblins, a Minotaur, and all manner of other dangerous creatures. When Clay reaches deeper than anyone ever has before, she meets the caretaker of the dungeon. To her surprise, Clay is invited to join the staff!
