CBR thinks Superman shouldnt be white anymore.Because CBR... I think that like BC, they also think Iris is the best cast member on Flash, and the key to the show. So, you know...

This does nothing to ameliorate my antipathy towards arachnids.

This does nothing to ameliorate my antipathy towards arachnids. Oh come on, isn't that little spider cute and fluffy? Isn't it adorable?

Some of you probably heard about by now,but Dissenter is a nifty plugin that allows you to comment on any site.Or rather creates a comment section for any site.
Thou, its a bit pointless to troll if the owners/posters cant see.Unless they also have dissenter, that is.

CBR thinks Superman shouldnt be white anymore.Because CBR... Of course, CBR is also partly responsible for the comic book industry going down the toilet.

So...a SECOND person was said to be "cured" of the HIV virus that causes AIDS! Before you get all excited though, the gene therapy used is very dangerous, and fails often, so there's a lot of work to be done. Hopefully they can build on that, and make it safer and more effective.

I heard about that, good. Hopefully, they can turn this into something that works safely on a wide scale sometime real soon. Any time they can make progress on any disease or condition, especially those that threaten death to sufferers, is cause for celebration.

I don't know if anyone's following the House Democrat Anti-Semitism scandal, but it's by turns disgusting, amusing, and...weird. We have Rep. Omar, one of two new Muslim women elected to the House for the Democrats, who can't stop saying and tweeting anti-semitic tropes, (the other also says these things, but not constantly, like Omar. First, there was a movement to rebuke her officially. Then...House Democrats shouted down their own Speaker, Pelosi...and the resolution condemning Omar became one not condemning Omar by name at all, but one condemning anti-semitism...AND "Islamophobia", something member of the House weren't caught engaging in. And...Democrats refused to kick her off the Foreign Relations panel.
So then it got even funnier, as Democrats struggled to excuse Omar's consistent displays of anti-semitism. Pelosi suggested that Omar, who is 38, is an infant incapable of understanding why anti-semitic comments raise offence, (which is odd, since Omar can't stop with them). Then we have Kamala Harris, the putative front runner for the Democratic nod, based on...reasons, who offered up that Omar had it tougher than Holocaust survivors children...for some reason. Basically, it's a circular firing squad, with the Democrats shooting at each other, evidently trying to be the party of anti-semites. I'm not sure that's a winning message, but Democratic economist Paul Krugman isn't bothered...as he claims in a tweet that Democratic Jew-haters are fine folks, but Republican Jew haters are EVIL. Like I said, weird.

Like I said, weird. We also have Harris and others are claiming that Omar is the victim. Somehow. For reasons. I'm not sure why they're all trying to re-elect Trump, but a platform based on anti-semitism, and AOC's weird-ass and completely stupid and unworkable Green New Deal, AKA Venezuela wannabe, (and the main suspects for the Dems, plus Bernie, can't stop going on about how they love Maduro and how they want to do for/to America what he did for Venezuela), seems unlikely to defeat anyone who is even 10% saner than they are. The punchline: David Duke now loves her...

House passes overarching hate language measureThis is some seriously cowardly, nasty stuff. If Rep. Steve King had done something like what Rep. Ilhan Omar did with her comments about Jews, they'd have censured him by name. But hey...at least David Duke likes her.

I don't know, the Democrats seem to be ceding the next election to Trump. Running as the party of Venezuelan socialism and anti-semitism doesn't seem to be a winning ticket against a very beatable Trump. It'll be a case again of voting against someone, rather than voting for them, and all anyone has to do is look at the "Green New Deal", and what AOC is saying, and they'll vote against anyone running on that. I mean, all Trump has to do is say, "The Democrats want to tear down your house, take your hamburger from you, and eliminate air travel", and he's won. I'm more used to the Republicans shooting each other in the name of ideological purity. But, hey, if that's the way they want to go down... I also don't think their plan to allow illegals to vote (in local elections) will win them any brownie points, either. Even though they voted that up in the House, there's no chance it will pass the Senate, or a veto, and is likely unconstitutional. I get that they're trying to normalize a massive surrender of sovereignty on the chance they figure they can move that to federal elections, but it will never work.

So, sort of lost in the news of the Mueller report whole lot of nothing that had the media and celebrities in tears and cursing Mueller's name, is the news that the Southern Poverty Law Center is in deep, deep doo-doo of it's own making. First one of the founders of the Center, Morris Dees was forced out amidst "Me Too" revelations, as well as allegations of racism toward the Center's own African-American employees. Well, rather first were the revelations that the SPLC, which most of the big tech firms rely on to "moderate hate speech", is really more of a scam designed to allow the Center to blackmail entities with threats of listing on their site, and huge offshore accounts which it seems that Dees and the other founder, who resigned yesterday apparently just ahead of the law, may have used for themselves. Regardless, a lot of former employees who now work as journalists are now blowing the whistle on the Center, calling it out not only for being a scam, but for those behaviors I mentioned above. Specifically, the New Yorker has an article where the writer, a former employee, says he feels sorry for donors to the extremely rich "charity" organization, as their donations were most assuredly not used for the purposes they thought they were. It seems to have been a massive racketeering criminal organization, rather than a legit service.
In other, more important news, it's national puppy day! Adopt a puppy from a pound. Or an older dog or cat that no one else will adopt, and give them some love. Every living being deserves that.
