Well, Gov Newsom owns a lot of that, as Disney pointed out rather more politely than I would have. Yup.

They need Bat Masterson, who used to referee prize fights with his Colt on his hip. No one ever argued a call.

Well, Gov Newsom owns a lot of that, as Disney pointed out rather more politely than I would have. Well, to steal from someone on one of the after-debate shows yesterday, TAMPING DOWN A PANDEMIC THAT HAS ALREADY KILLED OVER TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND AMERICANS is a liiiiiittle more important than ushering a few more people onto Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. And I say that as a big Disney fan.
Man, some people's priorities are INSANELY screwed up. They're simply unable to figure out that PEOPLE CAN'T WORK IF COVID PUTS THEM ON A VENTILATOR OR SIX FEET UNDER. So YES, it IS best to take these steps to AVOID catching it.
Get this straight: MONEY IS NOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN HUMAN LIFE. It's absurd that I even have to point this out.

I might point out Herald, that you don't live here, and don't get to see Newsom and what he does on a daily basis. For example, I doubt closing all California wineries...EXCEPT the ones HE owns, does little to stop a pandemic. That's a taste of what he's been doing, (well, along with his illegal insider real estate deals, and the multi billion dollar bullet train from nowhere to nowhere, his utter ineptness at handling the homeless problem---an issue Californians agree he's failed utterly at. So...yeah, Newsom wasn't handling the pandemic, he was helping himself. As for Disney, the amusement parks in California are the only ones in the world still not open in some form. So you're saying the rest of the world has no COVID? Otherwise there's no reason not to reopen them in some form along the lines of other openings. Social distancing, masks, hand sanitizers. This is by far the highest taxed state in the union, and we get almost nothing for it. And...Newsom wants to raise taxes even more, including property taxes. Which is driving everyone but the very rich or the very poor out of the state, as homeowner can no longer afford the tax nut every quarter. Our "green" energy grid is fine as long as no one uses any power in the state----and it daytime, since it shuts down after dark and we have to buy power from other states---we have the solar power...but no way to store it, no battery farms. As soon as demand jumps, like on hot days, of which California as you'll recall has many...they start rolling blackouts, perfect for those plus 100 degree days, especially for seniors or children who might die from the heat. We have to BUY power from other states...when they have it, as they too are usually hot on those days and have their own needs. And this state, like Oregon and Washington...and indeed most of the dysfunctional states and cities in this country, has been solidly Democrat forever. In fact, Republicans have NO power at all in California; they can't do a thing to even slow the Democrats down no matter what they're doing. The Democrats have a super-majority in state government, meaning the Republicans are bystanders that can do nothing---the point being this and all other messes our state is in, (we have a net population outflow as citizens leave the state after being priced out or driven out by onerous business regulations. So Newsom and his ilk own this. He's keeping Disneyland and the others closed because he can, not because of any science.

It seems Herald, that like your heroes, you don't even understand that the lockdown has been KILLING people left and right, so don't talk about human life. Get it straight, the lockdown was not about that; it was about keeping the load at hospitals down at any one time so they aren't overwhelmed. And in so doing, countless people were killed, the ones who did NOT have COVID, but did have something else deadly, and did not get treatment because of that. Hell, EMTs were told NOT to respond to heart attack cases where the person could be saved easily enough, but would require transport to hospital. In other words, they were killed for this, and they did not have to be. Even Fauci noted that. I may also point out that the use of ventilators has been determined to kill many more people than it helps, (being on one is very hard on the body and can kill in and of itself, especially when you try to remove one). I will give him this, at least he didn't murder upwards of 16,000 people, like the slightly more important Cuomo brother, with his ordering COVID patients be housed with sick old Granny and Gramps in the nursing home, something unbelievably moronic.

Subway bread isn't bread! Well, we all knew that anyway, but now it's official! The Irish Supreme Court has so ruled, saying the sugar content is too high, (it is), for it to be "bread". Okay, didn't know they had a standard, but the practical effect is that if it HAD been bread, Subway owners could have been taxed at 0%...which seems weird to me, but whatever. Some Subway franchisee sued to get a tax refund, and lost because of that.

Interesting. Has Japan Always Had These People? This is IIRC the third case in recent years, of some mutant evil creature like that emerging. There was also the guy who burned down that anime studio with all those poor people inside, and the one who went on a stabbing spree at some sort of convalescent hospital or the like. Is this a recent phenomenon? I always thought Japan was a very safe, well run country where you could walk anywhere even in Tokyo at any time without getting horribly killed.... Or are there lots of flats filled with body parts as a rule?
