-I did like the Ostrander series-but Martian Manhunter makes the list. -I would disagree over Blue Beetle, first Jaime series was good and there is a potential for a DC Spiderman there.Another idea they keep trying every so often. -Doctor Strange.Hes cool as an advisor/magic specialist/deus ex machina but there is nothing to do in a solo series. -Catwoman- IMO she functions better as a supporting character then solo. -Solo GoTG books dont really work either. -I cant remember if there was ever a Red Tornado ongoing attempted?I think there was a mini or two? -As a whole team Freedom Fighters-they are cool as a background/multiversal decor but they are not interesting enough for a book of their own.OFC,that could just be me. Could not disagree more about Doctor Strange.

That makes him pointless.

He's only unable to heal bullet wounds when cursed by the dread interdimensional demon lord, Kay-Sa-Dah!
Some people just call him Joe.

For my money, I don't really care what a character's powers are, or his or her weaknesses either, so long as they're consistent. I don't like a character who constantly pulls new powers out of his butt. Beyond that, I know very little about Doctor Strange. Though I agree that the magic types can be problematic if you're not careful, with sometimes rather nebulous powers and limits.

Hes supposed to be almost omnipotent and thus able to solve any problem in a minute. But thats not all that interesting to write so he just shoots beams out of his hands.Plus zero personality and a habit of making deals with demons. In case anyone missed it by now,I really dont like Doctor Strange. ☺️

Zero personality? I feel like you've never actually read an issue of Doctor Strange.

Most of it was by Bendis and Hickman. I did like him in Thor Vikings by Ennis.

Oh lord, no wonder...the king of "every character talks the same" and the king of "plot over character". Lemme give you some recommendations then: original Stan/Steve stuff the Defenders mini by the JLI crew Aaron's recent run (this will also serve as a nice end-around on your "overpowered" complaint) the current Waid stuff The first is the bread and butter on Strange concepts and give you trippy art that has still never been touched, and the last 3 are all hella-fun and heavy on personality, and none are exceptionally long so they won't require a large investment of time or money if you start reading and decide you still hate him.

I read Defenders Indefensible and a bit of Aarons run. That didnt blow my mind either.Indefensible was funny, but it warps the characters for comedy effect a bit too much. Eh,not every character is for me and nobody likes every character.

Steve Englehart/Frank Brunner/Gene Colan in the 70s. My favorite run in Doc's history.
