Now over at DC, it's a little different I think. Most everyone in the JLA over the years could and does carry/has previously carried a pretty decent solo book. But some notable exceptions, in my mind anyway: J'onn -- I know he's had the Ostrander series, but J'onn just feels to me, and has always felt, like the consummate team "glue guy"; he works better in a team setting Black Canary -- love Dinah too, but she's another who's just better bouncing off others like Ollie or the Birds Atom -- a low-key favorite character of mine, whether Ray or Ryan, but just not suited to a long run Elongated Man Beetle (although conversely, I think Booster works well in a solo role) Red Tornado Zatanna by all rights should be able to, but for whatever reason just doesn't None of the traditional Titans except Dick and Wally should ever have solo books (stop trying to make fetch happen with Cyborg, DC!) Most of the JSA folks need not apply (and yes, achilles, that includes Power Girl) Same for any Outsiders other than Bats or Black Lightning
I am curious as to your justification of not including Power Girl when you think Carol Danvers would work fine at DC. Carol's probably most like PG out of all the DC characters...so if you think Carol could work there, why not use the character who's similar, but already there, and with far less backstory to restrict the kinds of stories you can use her in? She's similar in certain respect to both Carol over at Marvel, and obviously SG back at DC, but as I said, with far fewer restrictions as to what you can do with her. |

I don't know if this is really a fair argument to make. We all know that the Powers that Be at Marvel have full on #1 chubs whenever the wind blows and they think they can make an extra buck by releasing a new #1 of a particular series. At least one of these instances was under Marvel's Marvel Now initiative in which several Marvel titles were rebooted with a new #1. Another #1 was released under the Secret Wars banner after partically the entire publication line was "cancelled." Obviously once Secret Wars was over, another new #1 had to be solicited. And so on and so forth. |

Plastic Man. Seriously, never got the appeal. Vastly prefer Elongated Man; he's got a broader writ, especially if you include Sue.

Supergirl. Tired of her, so many runs of a solo, that horrid Wokegirl show, one movie, maybe a second on the way, countless appearances in other titles...and frankly I've yet to see her appeal either. She's either bland, way too angry, or vastly too woke, but hardly a strong character on her own. Frankly, she been an unsympathetic character much too much for my taste as well.
