This past week I bought High Level #1 from Vertigo. It takes place in post apocalyptic future and it made me think of other such setting in Comics that I've liked. Setting for characters such as Killraven, Kamandi, Jonah Hex when his series was just Hex, etc.
What characters and series of this genre of comics have stood out for you over the years.

Marvel's adaptation of The Stand and The Dark Tower.

Damn near none. As a general rule, "post apocalyptic" is probably my least favorite setting in all of fiction.

Legion of Super-Heroes (Five Year Gap), The Atomic Knights, Kamandi, Hex (nice one SD), Deathlok, OMAC, X-Men Days of Future Past, Future Imperfect, Killraven...
All of these are good in their own way, but there's one future that stands miles above them...
Judge Dredd

Even if its tehnically post-Post Apocalypse.

Judge Dredd. Even if its tehnically post-Post Apocalypse. You can close the thread right here, there's no other best answer. That's the whole thing about Dredd, does that better than any other setting/characters. And there isn't a more iconic of those settings than Mega City One or the Cursed Earth...and the rest.

I was about to say this same thing, but I do love me some Judge Dredd.

I feel like someone should mention Scout in this thread, which I thought was decent and worth the time spent on it.

What was that one all about? Or ...yes, I know, I've heard about it, but I've never actually SEEN Waterworld or The Postman. What was THEIR deal? And were any of those any good at all?

Book of Eli was a waste of time (Spoiler, the bible is written in Braille and Denzil memorized it).
