More "common sense" from the "stable genius".Just wait, he's going to say "what I meant was I'm a genius when it comes to stables...like the kind you keep farm animals in". It'll still be a lie, but you don't expect him to admit he was wrong, right? How many people have to die taking this idiot at his word, until he can be charged with negligent homicide?

If you needed even further proof that COVID 19 is evil, consider this monstrous news: Small brewers such as brew pubs or just plain pubs that don't brew....are having to pour out stock as it goes bad, with no one to drink it! That's EVIL! Also....bacon and other meat stocks will be depleted soonish as packing plants close due to their workers coming down with it. EVIL!

How California's Santa Catalina Island Is Faring.Well, it sounds like they're surviving at the least. BTW, if you ever go there when this is over, do NOT fly in. The place has one airport, the Airport in the Sky. Which is the problem. This sort of thing happens all the time, usually with fatalities. The problem is the "in the Sky" part, and a short runway, with winds. Take the Express boat. They also have charter seaplanes, which are great fun. Great, if a bit dangerous diving and snorkeling, with huge kelp forests (yes, sometimes with huge Great White sharks, so that's at your own risk, as is pissing of the bison or whatever they were, (there because of a movie). It's also the Cubs former spring training site. Hope they weather this okay, it's a wonderful place.

Interesting. I wonder if that's what Trump was blathering about with respect to his light thing? It supposedly was. And I would not call it blathering after having watched to actual press conference.

I saw that part, and thought it was blathering. Or rather Trump's weird habit of thinking aloud with his stream of consciousness style...which is weird to those of us who recall at least some of 9th grade English. Still, with our recent history with Presidents, I don't hold much hope for much ability in that respect. We had W with his many attempts at murdering the language, and we have O with his famous revelation that our Navy medical personnel are actually undead zombies. With Trump, you just have to sorta tease out what he actually means. But I will give him this, in his own inarticulate way, he seems like he might have been on to something, at least with the UV light. Not sure how much if at all it will help with COVID, but given the incredible dearth of proven, viable treatments, and the speculation that a vaccine might be impossible, (there are a number of known Corona viruses, none of which have a vaccine), and that we may not get any immunity after having the disease, (though that comes from WHO, which should be considered suspect in all things until someone with a lot more credibility also tells us that), it was a question worth asking. Too bad he didn't remember what it was called though. They might also want to more generally look into that treatment and figure out what it can do and with what risk.

If you're having trouble keeping to that home workout now that you can't go to the gym, and wonder what the point of doing endless push-ups and sit-ups is, well here's some motivation. Shame basically. I mean, if this 94 year old woman is stronger and more agile than like 9o% of the population at any age...the rest of us aren't looking too good.

Apparently some bright doctors noticed that women survive this and in general do better at much higher rates than men, and decided to do some trials, treating some men with estrogen and other female hormones to see if that protects men a bit more. There is a glaring weakness with that theory, in that elderly post menopausal women also do better than elderly men, but who knows, someday men might not die at those rates whilst gaining a new appreciation for Lifetime television and also gaining new appreciation for hairstyling.
Meanwhile, younger people seem to be dying from it a bit more often, from strokes caused by blood clotting, which seems to be another symptom.
Over round my neck of the woods, I've noticed a new trend, the car parade celebration/mourning time. We had two over the weekend, one for a gunny in the Marines who tragically was killed in action in Iraq trying to take out an ISIS stronghold in March. He hasn't been able to be buried yet, but the family plans to lay him to rest in Arlington when this is all over. In the meantime however, the line of cars parading past his home, (he leaves an 8 year old daughter among other family), was miles in length. Ditto for a 105 year old WWII vet who's birthday was over the weekend. Amazing guy, still spry at his unbelievable age. This guy BTW survived the Spanish freaking Flu in 1918!
Several studies meanwhile show that lockdowns seem to have little effect on preventing the spread of the virus or limiting the speed of the spread. In other words, it's possible the world has been purposely tanking the economy for little to no reason.
Meanwhile, while the US death toll is reaching for Vietnam level death tolls, the death toll from the lockdown, which is killing people left and right, is climbing. People with other medical conditions are being killed because all other medical care is suffering or simply being denied while the lockdowns are in effect. For example many so-called elective surgeries aren't all that elective, like cancer tumor removals which have been postponed, or that heart surgery someone might need. Just as an example.
Also, be prepared to live meatless for a few months. We're about to experience that as the packing plants have closed due to infections among their workers.
So Dr. Brix or whatever her name is says social distancing might last until September. That won't fly if it means the lockdown as well as the staying six feel apart and wearing masks, which can be done, though it's intrusive. And it all might be pointless if those studies about the ineffectiveness of lockdowns for this are correct. Given the upcoming heat, the fact that we've done this for two months or so already, and the destruction of the economy, with over 26 million out of work and most of the rest on reduced pay, I give up two, maybe three more weeks before you start to see widespread ignoring the lockdown. And depending on the reaction of the authorities, maybe unrest. Hopefully I'm wrong about that, but I don't think I am. While Pelosi maybe he happy about all this, hunkering down with her expensive ice cream from her new car cost freezers, the people who are lining up in food lines, (something I'd only read about for the Great Depression), aren't going to be so happy.
