Whether or not they do, I also don't see them giving up having Marvel publishing comics. That would close down the main avenue to the core audience for their movies and TV; the hard-core Marvel Comics fans. Why not? Sell the rights to make those comics to Dynamite or IDW. They get the best of both worlds; comics still being produced without having the financial anchor Marvel currently is to them. That may or may not make sense, depending on how copyright and trademark law works. However, Disney to me seems to be a control freak about their properties, after all, they pulled back from Netflix in favor of their own streaming service---so why would they go in the opposite direction with Marvel itself? Honestly, Marvel is already up and running under Disney itself, why give that up?

Disney has no problem selling the rights to make comics about characters they own the rights to to outside companies. Marvel Comics is the ONLY part of Disney losing money. They would be foolish not to seriously consider following their comics creation business model and scrapping Marvel Comics.

They will probably try a few changes before closing it down completly.More control, placing their own people in charge, maybe even switching to just publishing graphic novels. That leash is going to get a lot shorter for Marvel.

That leash is going to get a lot shorter for Marvel. Truthfully, why waste the money on taking such steps? They could actually make money shutting Marvel down and farming those characters out to other comic companies. It would be a win-win for Disney.

Characters will survive in some form, thats not the issue here... Im saying closing the whole thing down is probably the last solution and isnt something that will happen overnight.Even if that was the end game,we are still going to see a lot of turmoil and downsizing before they turn off the lights.

Marvel The Outhouse of comics. Too soon? Especially since this whole rumor appears... to have it's start in something written by ol' Jude Traitor..
