Darkseid has at least two sons (Orion and Kalibak) so unless he went invitro, he has a schlong and knows how to use it. And as stated above, Granny didn't always look like a moldy bag of potatoes - which this issue shows. Besides, Darkseid is. He takes what he wants like the evil tyrant he is. It also seems tacky and cliched to say that they "use to be an item" or some crap like that, like someone's fanfiction. Though it's not like this'd be comics' first weird coupling.

Oh, I would never say they "used to be an item".

So basically they've turned ol' Doug Side into Dr. Evil and Granny into Frau Farbissina.
Hella dumb.

The art is crappy in a few places, the story is a bit pedestrian, and if you know your Furies, it's too easily predictable to figure out who will not make it to the 6th issue. I'm a New Gods junkie so I'll probably be in for the rest, but I can see why others may not. I enjoyed it myself, but yeah, I'll fully admit that it's not exactly the greatest thing I've ever read. It's interesting enough as a limited series, but if it was an ongoing I probably wouldn't be planning to buy it past the first issue.

Has anyone read King's Mister Miracle series?

Has anyone read King's Mister Miracle series? Yes, it was good, but tough to understand at times, particularly reading it in individual issues on a moth to month basis. I'm sure in one read as a trade a lot of things would become much clearer.

I am a well-known hater of his Vision book, so take this with a grain of salt, but MM is IMO hands down the best thing King's written, one of the best books DC has put out in years, and it ain't even close. Issue 11 is a goddamn masterpiece, and every issue is at the very least very very good.

I called Mister Miracle the best book of 2018. Loved it - even not having any clue where it fits in continuity or if it even does, it's just a great read for both story and art.
Grayson - what makes the B&N edition "exclusive"?

Hopefully there's a hardcover edition coming someday.

I honestly didn't even pay attention to whether it was hardcover or not. I think I'll pick it up regardless.
