Update on that one, it appears that 2020 decided to cut us all a break and the tsunami warning was cancelled. Damn this is a brutal year. Good.
Now a hurricane (Douglas) is headed our way. Not huge, but still… 2020…

That's weird about Fay. It passed right through where I live but I don't remember anything about it.

Well it doesn't look like there is any way to avoid it, Hurricane Douglas is headed pretty much toward us on Oahu. It's a category 1, but with all the old houses here (including mine), things look kind of bleak. Hope things aren't too bad, but again, it is 2020.

The outer edge is like 50 miles away (going to start feeling it in 15 min) and the eye should be passing close to us within 6 hours. So it probably can't go very far away, but still hopefully far enough away.

I am amazed to say that the storm nudged slightly north so the main body of the storm missed us. We still have the backend of the storm that could hit us with tropical storm conditions, but the main hurricane should not hit us (I think I just jinxed us). It was very close though, probably within 50 miles of hitting us. Kauai is still in danger though, I hope it misses them.
EDIT: I should not say it missed us just yet. It is due north of us right now. While it is unlikely that it would majorly drop south suddenly, nothing is impossible (since it was a miracle it nudged north)

Have fun riding it out.
I'm also watching Isaias over here on the mainland.

Sorry, I wasn't following Isaias. I think it is now a tropical storm (still probably strong winds and rain)… but it might re-develop into a hurricane. Hope everyone is safe.
EDIT:

Isaias is headed here to South Carolina and I hate it because I know the storm is coming but I'll be stuck inside when I want to be outside in the rain with my trenchcoat and boots on. Earlier this season there was the B-named tropical storm I was in the middle of that but had no idea it was a tropical storm.

Last night looking at the projected path on Weather Underground I was just a few miles away from the edge now that edge is now a few miles away from the coast. It did a massive shift eastward.

Can we borrow some of your rain? We've got ourselves a big, out of control forest fire, and we could sure use some. Also, it's hot.
