Hope it doesn't hit too hard. Maybe then you can go singin in the rain
Last night looking at the projected path on Weather Underground I was just a few miles away from the edge now that edge is now a few miles away from the coast. It did a massive shift eastward.
You're not getting any kind of storm surge, are you? Hope not.

I live in the Charleston, SC area there might be some storm surge but I live so far up the Ashley River that it starts to narrow and I don't get a storm surge.

I am okay. The storm didn't seem all that impressive. I expected winds to be a little stronger. Places closed early yesterday because of it.

UUGGGHHH I hope people evacuated
Been watching footage, since I know the area from East Texas on into New Orleans, including Lake Charles. I hope they all come through all right. The footage is pretty brutal. It's a savage storm.

Seems though that damage and loss of life isn't nearly as bad as it could have been for some reason. Lake Charles is damaged, the glass windows in skyscrapers there was all blown out, with some of it hitting people, evidently, leaving them with unknown injuries. Lots of power loss, probably flooding and the odd tornado...but so far at least, it seems the people there dodged a bullet. Hope it continues.

I feel like with the way people are nowadays they'll stay so they can blame Trump if something bad happens to them.

Oh shit. Ryukyu is Okinawa Hope they make it through okay. But I think they will; super-typhoon or not, they've a lot of experience dealing with these things. Every year it seems they get hit by one or more typhoons. They're probably a lot better at dealing with them then we are.

Ick. The sky is a weird bruise color, and the sun is a burning red. San Fran has orange skies with what looks to be reduced visibility, as do parts of Oregon, all from the fires. And of course the ash fall...
