So, for that....friend, can someone just give a snapshot of where the DCU is now, listing status quo for the major heroes and teams, and elaborate on where DC is headed? Rebirth happened. Here's some of what's happened since... Superman:Clark & Lois married, have a son Jon (who's best friend is Batman's kid). Things were going great, then Bendis happened and the world now knows Clark is Superman (and Jon get's artificially aged so that he can join the Legion of Super-Heroes - even though Conner 'Superboy' Kent is back. Basically, it's unreadable. Batman: Got engaged to Catwoman (who leaves Bats at the alter). She might be pregnant now. There's a Batman from another universe who's a perverse reflection of Bats that's currently causing a lot of chaos. Justice League: Spent the last few years trying to stop Lex and his Legion of Doom. Ted Cord is back and hangs out with Booster. Dr. Manhattan visits the DCU and plays around with time (he's the true force behind Flashpoint). He eventually realizes he's fucked things up and leaves. Wally West makes it into the DCU and pretty quickly he accidentally kills a bunch of C-List heroes. He eventually becomes the new Metron with Dr. Manhattan overtones. (No, I did not make this up). The Justice Society is back. The Legion of Super-Heroes are back (but they've been Bendisized and it's awful). Also, Bane killed Alfred. Nightwing has spent the past couple years with amnesia and calling himself Ric Grayson after getting shot in the head by KGBeast. (Basically, Tom King has destroyed the Bat-corner of the DCU). Mark Shaw, former Manhunter, has taken over Leviathan, started calling himself Leviathan, and destroyed all the DCU’s spy agencies (ARGUS, DEO, etc). But, OTOH... JL Dark is really good. Bendis’s Young Justice is surprisingly fun even though it makes no sense. Tomasi is making Detective readable despite King’s nonsense Tynion’s Batman is off to a fun start

I'd heard about that stupid Nightwing thing, hate it.

I'd heard about that stupid Nightwing thing, hate it. She’s the team leader, but it is IMO in no way “just another WW title”. It’s a true team book with a really fun cast of cool underused folks like Zatanna, Constantine, Swamp Thing, Man-Bat, Detective Chimp, etc. And Dr. Fate is not a bad guy, no. Nabu was an antagonist for a bit (which is actually in line with his history, he’s always been kind of an ass), but Dr. Fate remains a hero. It’s been fun as hell.

Good, I was concerned that Diana would take over that title.

And he got his happy ending. That still on? Since it was set in the future. Also, if it is, can we have that cool whale GL? Or the League of Titans? That was a cool team, Superman, Power Girl, Nightwing, Wally, Starfire, whale GL...

I didn't know that Dave Wood and Carmine Infantino wrote and drew "The Last Days of Animal Man".
